    Charlotte’s Web(网) is popular among readers of all ages. It is a popular book and it was made into a film and a TV show. It is almost a story about animals.

    There is one human, who has an equal (平等的) relationship with the animal characters. Fern Arable is a little girl. She likes a weak little pig. Its name is Wilbur. But Wilbur is sold to Fern’s uncle Homer Zuckerman, who’s a farmer. It’s a lonely life there for Wilbur. He has no friends, and other animals look down on (瞧不起) him. But his life turns around when he meets Charlotte, a spider（蜘蛛）. She becomes a great friend to Wilbur.

    There is bad news for Wilbur. He is going to be killed as food for others. It seems that there is no hope for him until Charlotte comes up with a clever plan to save him. She uses her web（网） to write messages about Wilbur. Messages in a spider’s web are never heard of by everyone. Humans who see the messages think that they must come from God! Wilbur becomes famous enough to join a competition（比赛）. Although he doesn’t win, the famous web makes sure that he will not be killed.

    However, if there is happiness in stories, there must be a little sadness. The sadness in this story is Charlotte’s death. In the end, saving Wilbur made her tired, and after giving birth to her babies, Charlotte dies.

    And then, most of the new spiders disappear. Wilbur believes he will be left with no friends. However, the three youngest and smallest baby spiders, named Joy, Nellie and Aranea, stay and become his new friends.
