If you really want something, you can save for it. Also, after you have saved up enough money, you may understand you don’t really want it after all.
Finally, you should not compare(比较) what you have with what your friends have. Your friend may have an expensive iPad. However, your friend may borrow it or pay for it with borrowed money.
There is an old saying: “Give a person a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a person how to fish, and he will eat for the rest of his life.” This is also true when we teach our children about money. Don’t buy everything your children want.
