This makes us feel sick. Therefore people should go out of door as much as they can. Besides so many cars, there are many factories, too. For the chimneys of these factories, we get the smoke usually in black or gray color. This kind of smoke, when it mixes the air, is dangerous to our health. It is because smoke contains many small poisonous solids to gases. So in order to keep us healthy we have to go out to the countryside to breathe more fresh air. He had no way of telling people exactly how powerful it was, for at that time there were no units(单位) for measuring power.Watt decided to find out how much work one strong horse could do in one minute. It was an unexpected (意想不到的) holiday. On April 9, we were told to leave school and stay at home because of a new deadly disease called SARS.

School is much better than home. It is not very nice to be stuck at home (憋在家里), unable to go out. Although our classes are sometimes boring, going to school is much better than staying at home. I am even starting to miss some of my teachers. It would be nice just to see their faces again. Meeting old classmates would be great too. It feels as if I haven't seen them for ages (很久). After weeks of being at home, I asked my parents to take my cousins and me to the Great Wall. Being able to get outside made me feel excited. It was not very crowded there because few people were leaving their homes. Another good thing is, our school website is offering us lessons on some of our subjects. Calling friends every day is a lot of fun.My school has asked me to do a special job during this unusual holiday. Every day I phone some of my classmates and ask them to take their temperatures. I also ask them if they have done their homework. Then I give the information to our teacher. This is a lot of fun. I have never made so many phone calls to my classmates! Nobody knows how long this holiday will last. When we go back to school, I hope everything will return to normal. I miss my friends and school very much.

Soon after my brother was made to take more medicine. He stayed in hospital for three days. During the three days, he was given injections and medicine to take every day. Everyone in my family was so worried about my brother, including me. We all hoped that my brother would be better soon. Then we would live a happy life as before. From that day on, I began to realize I was wrong about money being the most valuable possession in the world. If a person who has a lot of money is dying can money make him better? Of course the answer is no. Good health is everyone's most valuable possession. We should take good care of ourselves and try our best to keep us away from disease. Elementary School Library Rules

　　How many books are students allowed to borrow at once? Kindergarten and Grade One：Children are allowed to borrow one book a week．Grade Two and Up：Students in Grade Two and up are allowed to borrow two books a week．

　　How long is the loan? Books are loaned for about a week，however the school is on a 5-day cycle．Books are due on the cycle day．A book borrowed on Day 1 is due on the next Day 1，even if it is not the same day of the week．A book borrowed on Tuesday may be due on a Wednesday，if there is a holiday between when the book is borrowed and when it must be returned．

　　May I renew my book? Our computer system does not allow us to renew books，so they must be returned and checked out again．We ask students to return their books at the beginning of the day with their bookmark／library card inside and sticking out．We will check the book in and put it aside for the student to get when he returns with his class．

　　How much is the fine if I return a book late? There are no fines for children in grades K-6．However students who have an overdue book may not borrow another book．

If I have the right to borrow two books and I have returned one，may I take out another book?

If the book you have left at home is not yet overdue，you may take out another book．However，if it is overdue，you will not be allowed to take out another book．

What happens if I lose a book?

If you lose a book，we will give you time to look for it．
