  A well dressed man came into a famous jeweler's shop one day. He explained that he wished to buy a pearl for his wife's birthday. He didn't mind if the pearl was cheap or expensive, since business had been good for him that year.

  After studying a number of beautiful and expensive pearls, he chose an unusual black one. It would be 5,000 pounds. He paid money for it, took the pearl, shook hands with the jeweler and left.
