　　With school back in the new term, here are some suggestions from Oxford Learning for students to pass the exams．

　　(1)Pay attention to class．Take notes on the main ideas．If you don’t understand something, make a note and ask others for help．

　　(2)Use a planner to enter homework as soon as it’s assigned(布置)．Pick a comfortable place to do homework．

　　(3)Divide material(材料)into units and assign each unit a day．Give yourself a three-day rest before the test．Study in short classes－15 minutes at a time－then take a five-minute break to exercise．

　　(4)Use Oxford’s SQRCRC method to study:

　　Search introductions, headings and summaries(总结)for main idea．

　　Question：“What do I hope to learn by reading this?”

　　Read for details(细节)．

　　Cover the work．

　　Recite what you’ve read．

　　Check how well you have done．

　　Advice on Doing Your Homework

　　Never try to work when you are very hungry．If you want to do your home-work right after school，you may want to eat something before getting to work．Al-ways do your homework before you get too tired．Don't wait until late in the evening， or the assignment will seem much harder than it really is．

　　Divide your time into a few parts if you have more than an hour's work．Relax yourself after an hour．However，don't divide it up so much that you can't get any-thing done．You should be able to work at least half an hour at a time without stopping．

　　Don't put off(推迟)until the last minute．If you put off doing your home-work，you will have it on your mind and you won't enjoy your free time．If you put off until the end of the week or until right before a test，you will have too much to do．A little bit each night，enough to keep up with what is happening each day in school，will take the fear out of tests and keep you on top of it．

　　Do your homework at the same time every day．This will help you make it a habit梡art of your daily work．It will make it easier to do，and it will make your free time more enjoyable as well．

　　Suo Lala is very good at computers．After she leaves college, she becomes a junior middle school teacher．At school, she is asked to help five“problem children”in her class．

　　The five children are high tech geniuses(天才)．It seems they have spent to much time online every day．This makes their parents and teachers feel upset．They hope Suo can change the children's habits．

　　Suo has her own way to help the kids．Instead of being hard on the students, she makes friends with them．Suo even has an contest(竞赛)online with the five children．Then the children win! She's surprised at it．

　　It is reported that many middle school students are just not getting enough sleep, especially during the school week．The problem seems to get worse as they get older．Year 7 students sleep 8.4 hours in a school night, and Year 9 students only 6.9 hours．

　　It's also reported that not getting enough sleep can cause problems in a student's life．

　　Many students fall asleep in school or while doing their homework, so it is not surprising that they get lower grades than those who get enough sleep．Scientists suggest nine hours a night for middle school students．

　　Of the students who feel unhappy and nervous, 73％do't get enough sleep at night．

　　Why aren't students getting enough sleep? Many students have one of the following things, like telephone, television, or computer, in their bedrooms．Using them on a school night not only takes their time away from homework, but also makes it difficult for them to fall asleep．As a result, many students can't fall asleep before 11 P.m., yet they must get up early to go to school．

　　Scientists also suggest students should not do exciting activities for an hour before bedtime．
