仔细阅读下列短文, 根据题目, 选出最佳选项. The other day Roy Price went "home" to his sister's house. It's her home now; but it's also the house he was born in. Pat, his sister kissed him and said, "You haven't changed much, Roy. Let me see, now——when did we meet last " "Twenty-five years ago, " he answered. "I came here for a week, do you remember " He added, "You haven't changed much, either. " It was polite for Roy to say so, but it wasn't true. Pat seemed almost an old lady. The next morning Roy walked through the village alone. The place looked quite different. There were lots of traffic signs on the roads and beside the roads. There was a new car park, a new post office and a new bus stop. He remembered suddenly that the bus used to stop somewhere: you just put up your hand and it stopped. One surprise followed another. The railway station was gone! The school was gone; a lot of farm machineries stood on the playground! But Roy's biggest surprise was the people. He didn't recognize anybody at all; perhaps because everyone seemed old. He went into the post office and bought some stamps. "Where are all the children and young people " he asked the postmaster. The old fellow looked up from his book of stamps. "Children " he said. "They're in school, of course. There are three or four young families here. The children go to school by bus——to Horham. " Horham was a town about twenty kilometers away. At lunch Pat said, "The village looks nice, doesn't it " "It is all different, Pat. It used to be an exciting place, but now it's full of old people. I don't understand..." "There are a few newcomers, but the ones we knew are still here. You're not exactly young yourself, Roy, are you "

One day, a physically-deformed man came to our school and on his back was a notice saying “Free shoe repairing for college students.”

Repairing shoes free? Most of us didn't believe it, and some even thought that it was just device (诡计) to the students who would have to pay for the shoes once they had been repaired, but the man just smiled and said, “Save your money and buy some books.” These words really surprised me and I talked with him, “You need to make a living; why do you still repair shoes for us for free?” He answered, while keeping on working, “I am an illiterate (文盲) , but it is my pleasure to serve you. In my opinion, money isn't everything in life.”

He stopped for a moment and said, “I look down on those people who always cry. For example, when they themselves push their bodies into a bus, it is very common for people to help each other. But in recent years, people always look at me with an eye of surprise and say, 'Please wait for the next one.' I have to wait for the next... so I am with a wheelchair now!”

After the chat, I felt he was great compared with me. He ---a physically-deformed man who couldn't walk without a wheelchair, still tried his best to devote himself to society. I would like to thank this man, because he gave me a new direction in my life, and taught me how to know the true value of life.
