1. T: Here is a sample conversation(Section A 2c) you write more reasons? And make a conversation with your partner with the new reason.
Let some Ss act out their conversations.
T: It’s time for Grammar Focus.I will read the questions and the answers to you and please repeat.
Ss: Can you come to my party? I’m sorry. I can’t. I have to help my mom…
T:We can use “can”with any person without any changes. These are all invitations, so we should answer them in a very polite way. If we don’t accept the invitation,we should give a reason with “have to”or”I’m doing…” to explain our planned actions.
T:Lisa is having a birthday party. She is inviting her classmates to her party. She is handing out the invitations. Now she is talking with Simon and let’s see what Simon’s answer is. Please read the invitation(Section A 3a) and fill in the blanks.
Make sure that Ss get the correct answers.
