    The World Expo（世界博览会）is a world-wide exhibition（展览），and it aimed to show mankind's great success in artwork and traditional craftwork（手工艺术）at first．During its history，it has become the largest international exhibition to show the world's great success in society and culture，as well as science and technology．Moreover，every expo also gets hundreds of thousands of visitors coming to see its different kinds of performances and buildings．Usually，the World Expo is held by the government of a country．And many other countries and international organizations also take part in each expo．It is usually held every five years, and it lasts for six months．

Shanghai, the largest city in China, has won the chance to hold the Expo in 2010． It's held in a developing country for the first time．It is a good chance for China to show its achievements in many fields． The theme of the Expo is "Better City, Better Life"． We all really hope that our city can become more exciting and that we can enjoy life to the fullest．And Shanghai Expo has its own mascot （吉祥物） Haibao． Its shape is from the Chinese character "人"— people． It shows Chinese culture very well．Haibao has a round blue body and a friendly face．Its big feet support its body and this shows that China is able to host an excellent World Expo．
