wasn’t around．Here’s our advice to her—and to all kids who feel lonely sometimes．

    It’s hard when a best friend isn’t around—maybe because she moved to a different

school or a different class．You may feel lonely at break or lunchtime．You want to have new

friends．but how do you make them? Maybe it seems like everybody else already has their

friends．But remember, there’s always room for more friends．    。．

    Start by looking around your classroom—think about which kids you’d like to play

with at break．Look for chances to say hi to them，smile，and be friendly．Offer to share

something or express your appreciation(欣赏)to them．Invite someone to play with you or

 say “Do you want to sit here?” in the lunchroom．When you’re at break，walk over to kids

you want to play with．act friendly，and say “Hi，can l play, too?” or just join in．

    If you have trouble doing this or if you’re feeling shy, ask your teacher to help you make

 new friends．Teachers are usually pretty good at matching up friends．The best way to make

friends is to be a friend．Be kind，be friendly，share，say nice things，offer to help—and pretty soon，you’ll have one，or two，or even more new friends.

    You might still miss that special best friend．But when you see each other, you can share

 something you didn’t have before she left：You can introduce her to your new friends!

What’s the most important thing for you to have in your life? Somebody mentions（提到） hard-work, others suggest knowledge, love and luck.

To be a good teacher, you need some of the gifts of a good actor; you must be able to hold the attention and interest of your audience; you must be a clear speaker, with a good, strong, pleasant voice which is fully under your control; and you must be able to act what you are teaching, in order to make its meaning clear.

Watch a good teacher, and you will see that he doesn’t sit still before his class; he stands the whole time he is teaching; he walks about, using his arms, hands and fingers to help him in his explanations, and his face to express feelings.

There are very important differences between the teacher’s work and the actor’s.

The actor has to speak words which he has learnt by heart; he has to repeat exactly the same words each time he plays a certain part, even his movements and the ways in which he uses his voice are usually fixed beforehand(预先).What he has to do is to make all these carefully learnt words and actions seem natural on the stage. A good teacher works in quite a different way. His audience take an active part in his play: they ask and answer questions, they obey orders, and if they don’t understand anything, they say so. The teacher can’t learn his part by heart, but must invent it as he goes along.

I have known many teachers who are fine actors in class but are unable to take part in a stage-play because they can’t keep strictly to what another has written.

One day, when my wife and I were leaving a restaurant, I heard a man's voice from a car in the car-park. After a quick look at the ear, 1 noticed the Pennsylvania license plate (牌照) at once, so I knew they had come from far away. The young man had his head partly out of the window and spoke to me as I moved closer, "Excuse me, my wife and I are trying to find a room for the night and every place in the area seems to be filled up.
