When you carry your heavy schoolbag on the way to school or home, do you know the fact that the heavy schoolbag influences your interest in learning knowledge?Don't worry. You may be able to say goodbye to your heavy schoolbag in the near future.

Instead of burying(埋葬)your face in an ocean of textbooks, newspapers, magazines and novels, you will soon find that an E-book reader can take the place of them all.

An E-book reader is a new kind of mini machine designed to hold thousands of text files and display them on the screen as real text printed(印刷)on a paper page.

Shopping for Clothes By Ken Method

Betty needed some new clothes. Mrs. Jones took her to the department store. They went to the children's department. A saleswoman came up to them.

“Can I help you?” she asked.

“Yes,” Mrs. Jones said. “My daughter needs a new blouse.”

“What size is she?” the saleswoman asked.

“She was a size six last year, but she's bigger now.”

“We'll try a size seven,” the saleswoman said.

Betty tried on several blouses. She didn't like any of them. Some were too big. Some were too small. Then she tried on one that was the right size.

“That one looks right,” her mother said.

“No, Mom,” Betty said. “It's too heavy. I'll be hot.”

At last Betty found one she liked. “This is just right,” she said. “It's not too heavy. It's not too thin. I like the color.”

Shopping is not as simple as you may think!Much has to be done for the producers before putting the products on the shelf.

Color, for example, changes a lot according to what the producers are trying to sell.Health foods are packed in greens, yellows or browns because we think of these as healthy colors.

When some kind of medicine was brought out recently, researchers found that the color of the package(包装)caused the shoppers to lose interest because they made the product look ineffective(无效的).At last, it came on the market in dark blue and white-blue because we think of it as safe, and white as calm.

The size of a package can also attract(吸引)a shopper, although quite often a bottle doesn't hold as much as it appears to.

It is said that the better-known companies spend about 40 percent of the cost of the product itself on packaging!
