You can learn a lot from a horse by paying attention to his body language.Horses, like many other animals, communicate through their movements, eyes and sounds. Since they are strong and dangerous animals,it is important to learn how to read their body language.

Watch a horse's body. If his body is relaxed and quiet,he is happy. Go forward (向前) slowly and watch for changes in his action.

Watch the horse's ears. When his ears are up and forward,it shows he is feeling happy. However, when his ears are down and backwards, against his neck, the horse is sad. When the horse relaxes his ears out to the side,he may be bored. If he moves them when you speak to him,he's interested.

Care about the horse's eyes. When he shows the whites (眼白) of his eyes with his ears back and flat (扁 平的) ,he is very worried. A horse that does this may be going to kick. It is a frightening expression and you should stay away.

Notice the expressions on the horse's face. Some of these will change a little with different horses, and if you have a horse, you will soon learn to read his expressions. Usually,if he narrows (使......变窄) his eyes and tightens (绷紧) his mouth,he is angry.
