。选A.
小题2:考查前后照应词义比较 从后文作同位语的teaching disabled children和对立项a part-time writer for IBM,这里指的不是义务(duty),努力(effort),任务(task),而是工作、职业(job)。
后句sent three of her stories to a publisher 有所暗示。
Interested="As" they were interested;Encouraged的逻辑主语应是Tracy,而不是出版商;anxiously(忧虑地, 不安地)和seriously(认真地, 真诚地)通常不作句子性副词用,故不能出现在这个位置上。选A。
now that既然,表示原因关系;;even though即使,即便,表示转折关系;just because就是因为,表示因果关系;except that 除了……
She used to have me speak with my grandmother, who died many years ago." make up弥补, 虚构, 缝制, 整理;connect with连接, 联络;control控制;explain 解释, 说明。
小题12:考查词义比较前后照应 有时某些事情无缘无故(for no reason)地,而非碰巧(by accident),从远处(from a distance),作为礼物式(as gifts)地发生在作者身上。 Once, she was wondering how to… 选A。
由后文although in a more comfortable home 说明unmoved不妥。 选A
joy与success和work一样与后句的it wasn't just writing不形成对立关系。
注意与文章前面her writing skill,a part-time writer for IBM,writing stories was simply a personal interest的相一致。 选A。

Former National Football League player and children’s author Tim Green has added another book to his list of accomplishments: Unstoppable. The book tells the story of a 12-year –old boy named Harrison, who survives life in a cruel foster home before he finally finds a loving family. Once he settles in and realizes his natural football ability, tragedy strikes again and he loses his leg to a deadly bone cancer. Unstoppable follows Harrison’s incredible journey as he faces many challenges in his life.
Tim Green says he decided to write a novel about a kid facing cancer after watching how his wife fought to survive her own illness. “Her mental and physical toughness were more heroic to me than anything I’d ever seen in the national sports leagues,” Green told TFK Kid Reporter Zachary J. Lewis.
After watching his wife’s battle, Green said, he knew he needed to write about a person who struggled through a serious illness. But because the target age for his books is teen, he needed to tell the story through the eyes of someone that age.
When friends introduced Green to Jeffrey Keith, Green knew he had found the right person to help him“ capture the heroism that it takes to fight cancer”. Cancer-survivor Jeffrey Keith lost his leg to disease at age twelve, but went on to be the goalie (守门员)for the Boston College Division 1 Lacrosse(长曲棍球)Team and was also the first amputee to run 3,300 miles across the country. When Green heard Jeffrey Keith’s story, he knew it was the perfect narrative on which to base his next book.
TFK asked Keith what it felt like to read Unstoppable for the first time. “Tim captured what it felt like for me to go through this experience and battle back,” Keith said. “After I read the book, Tim asked me to describe it in one word, and I said ‘awesome’. Tim’s work sends a message to all the kids across the country that are facing obstacles that can have nothing to do with cancer: you are all unstoppable, as long as you believe it.”

One of my wonderful memories is about a Christmas gift. Unlike other gifts ,it came without wrap(包装). On September 11, 1958, mum gave birth to Richard. After she brought him home from hospital, she put him in my lap(大腿), saying, “I promised you a gift, and here it is .” What an honor! One morning, however, I found its bed empty. My doll was gone! I cried for it. Mum wept and told me that the poor little thing had been sent to a hospital. It had a fever. For several days, I heard mum and dad whispering such words as “hopeless”, “pitiful”,and “dying”, which sounded ominous.
“Christmas was coming, don’t expect any presents this year ”Dad said, pointing at the socks I hung in the living room. I’d never seen him cry before.
The phone rang early on Christmas morning. Dad jumped out of bed to answer it. From my bedroom I heard him say.” What? he’s all right?” he hung up and shouted upstairs. “The hospital said we could bring Richard home! ”
“Thank god!” I heard Mum cry.
From the upstairs window, I watched my parents rush out to the car. I had never seen them so happy. And I was also full of joy. What a wonderful day! My baby doll would be home. I ran downstairs. My socks still hung there flat. But I knew they were not empty: they were filled with love!

One day, when I was in college, a dishonest-looking character approached me in the student union with a leather jacket he wanted to sell. It was a beauty: buttery smooth cowskin, with artfully sewed lines and long leather fringes (穗).
I can’t remember what the price was, but it was apparently too little for such a jacket. Even as I paid the money that day, I knew something wasn’t right. Surely, a couple of days later, the jacket’s real owner, a student about my age came to me as I was on my way to class.
“That’s my jacket,” he said, “and I want it back.”
“No way,” I answered. “I paid for it, and I have no idea if it’s yours. It’s mine.”
He didn’t challenge me, and I left, but the uneasiness(不安) I had about my new possession now had a visible face. A few days later, riding my bike across campus, I saw the real owner standing on the sidewalk. I rode over, took the jacket off, handed it to him said I was sorry, and rode off without another word. More than the weight of the jacket had been lifted from my shoulders.
We’re all human, which means that sometimes we do things we shouldn’t do or say things we shouldn’t say. Sometimes we realize too late that our actions have been hurtful to somebody else. When these hard times occur, the best response --- the only response, really --- is, “I’m sorry.”
Admitting a wrongdoing, as soon as possible and frankly, helps the other person begin to heal. But just as important, it cleans up our own soul and sets us free.
That is a small price to pay for a clear conscience.
小题1:The author bought the leather jacket from the man in the student union because ______   .

A.offered his forgivenessB.felt very much relieved
C.rode away unwillinglyD.realized his wrongdoing
小题4:What is the author’s purpose of this writing?
A.To encourage the readers to admit errors honestly.
B.To show the readers the reality of his college life.
C.To give the readers a lesson on how to say sorry to others.
D.To tell the readers a story that once happened at college.
