    The truth has finally appeared．Soggy vegetables-over-boiled vegetables，are good for you．This news，which is now official，will bring great joy to thousands of retired school chefs-that fine body of men and women，whose confirmed approach to food shaped our childhoods．

    According to a Europe-wide study coordinated by the Institute of Food Research in Norwich，a well-cooked carrot offers more protection against heart disease and cancer than a raw one．

    So let the nation's boilers come out and do what they do best．As for the braisers，roasters，and steamers，they will just have to re-think their strategy．
