    Friends aren’t just fun to have around; they actually help your health. A recent study finds that people who have a larger group of friends in their life live longer than those with few friends by 22%.

    Friends help you develop healthy habits. Friends can influence you to make good health changes in your life. Going out with the girls, for example, may mean you see their healthy choices at lunch and do the same. A night out with the boys may include basketball or running rather than sitting in front of the TV. We often think of friends as a group that we have fun with, but a good time can also mean improving your world in some way. This is especially true when you have a lot of friends around you who want you to live a long and healthy life.

    Friends help us meet the challenges differently. Failures (失败) can cause many kinds of physical problems in our bodies, but friends can change the way we deal with them and help our emotional (情绪的) health, which in turn allows us to meet the challenges in a stronger way.

    Friends help you find diseases earlier. Sometimes, a friend notices something unusual about one’s health that he or she hasn’t even realized. They can point it out and encourage their friends to see a doctor.

    Friends want us to be around a long time. Friends are very important in our life.

    How does the new job compare with your current one?

    This is relatively simple. If the job you’re being offered doesn’t have as good a role, salary or satisfaction level as your current one, then why are you considering it at all? 5. Have a think about why you want to leave your current job before deciding on the next one.

    On one of her trips to New York several years ago, Eudora Welty decided to take a couple of New York friends out to dinner. They settled in at a comfortable East Slide cafe and within minutes, another customer was approaching their table.

Heading back downtown toward her hotel, her big-city friends were amazed at the turn of events that had changed their Big Apple dinner into a Mississippi state reunion(团聚).

    ＂My friends said: ‘Now we believe your stories,’＂ Welty added. ＂And I said: ‘Now you know. These are the people that make me write them.’＂

    Sitting on a sofa in her room, Welty, a slim figure in a simple gray dress, looked pleased with this explanation.

    The following day the guy didn't visit the store．When the girl called him, his mother answered the phone and started crying．The girl asked her what was the matter．"He died yesterday," the mother said. There was a long silence．

    Later that afternoon the guy' s mother entered his room and opened his closet．To her surprise, she saw a big pile of unopened CDs wrapped in festive paper．With curiosity she tore open the package and noticed a slip of paper "Hi! You're cute; I would love to meet you．Let's go out some time．Sophie．"

    The mother started crying as she opened another, and another．Every single CD contained a slip of paper that said the same．

    That's the way life is．Don't wait to show those special people the way you feel．Tomorrow would be too late.
