Same Expansion, Different Ways

Cities have undergone rapid expansion in both China and America in the past decades, but the ways of city expanding in the two countries are different.

Most Chinese cities are getting bigger mainly due to the follows. Government office buildings and development areas with different functions are designed to be located out of cities. Almost at the same time, a great many residential communities are newly constructed in these areas, followed by some necessary facilities.

American cities have witnessed different expansion from that in China. An increasing number of citizens prefer to habitat out of downtown to get closer to nature. Besides, more and more financial institutions and business centers are also going out, forming some small cities or towns, and gradually these neighboring districts make the former cities larger than before.
