8.The kids are told that _______ has more points than others when time runs out wins the game.( )
A.anyoneB.whoC.whoeverD.whatever

连接词可分为连词(that,if和whether)、连接代词(who,whom,whose,what,which,whatever,whichever等)和连接副词(when,where,why,how,whenever,wherever,however等)三大类.做题时要分析句子的成分,看缺少什么成分,就选用相应的连接词.

16.We don't always get a second chance to achieve our dreams. But some people are lucky, like Matthew McConaughey.Once almost unknown, the actor has recently found himself back on the list of the best actors in Hollywood. His new movie Interstellar is just another sign that his career reinvention has been an incredible success."The film relies on McConaughey's  performance to hold together the emotional story of a father and his daughter against the background of space travel and the end of the world,"Forbes commented.
But only years ago,the Texas native was often the butt of jokes (笑柄) about being too handsome. In 1993,after meeting with director Richard Linklater,McConaughey starred in Dazed and Confused. And a Hollywood career was born, mostly in romantic comedies. For a long time, the whole world believed McConaughey was just a handsome guy with comic talent.
But McConaughey stopped starring in that type of movie, and began to use his looks differently.Slowly he built up his reputation as a serious actor. In 2013,McConaughey was offered to play an AIDS activist in Dallas Buyers Club. The role saw the normally muscular actor losing 50 pounds in order to appear sick. His performance won him an Oscar for Best Actor.
The actor gave thanks to someone he has always looked up to as a hero during his Oscar acceptance speech. When he was 15,the actor said,he decided that his hero would be himself in 10 years. But 10 years later,he pushed the deadline ahead another decade. Then 10 years later, another decade."My hero's  always 10 years away,"he said."I'm never going to attain that. That keeps me with somebody to keep on chasing."Or perhaps constantly chasing the chance to be his own hero has given him a second chance to pursue his dreams.

3.I could still remember that hot afternoon when my mother ordered me to walk to the public library,and borrow at least one book for the summer.In this way,she hoped to defeat my strange problem-inability to read.
In the library,I found my way into the"Children's Room."I sat down on the floor and pulled a few books off the shelf.The cover of a book caught my eye.It presented a picture of a beagle.I had recently had a beagle,the first and only animal friend I ever had as a child.He was my secret sharer,but one morning,he was gone,given away to someone who had the space and the money to care for him.I never forgot my beagle.
There on the book's cover was a beagle which looked similar to my dog.I ran my fingers over the picture of the dog on the cover.My eyes ran across the title,Amos,the Beagle with a Plan.Unknowingly,I had read the title.Without opening the book,I borrowed it from the library for the summer.
Under the shade of a bush,I started to read about Amos.I read very,very slowly with difficulty.Though pages were turned slowly,I got the main idea of the story about a dog who,like mine,had been separated from his family and who finally found his way back home.That dog was my dog,and I was the little boy in the book.At the end of the story,my mind continued the final scene of reunion,on and on,until my own lost dog and I were,in my mind,running together.
My mother's call returned me to the real world.I suddenly realized something:I had read a book,and I had loved reading that book.Everyone knew I could not read.But I had read it.Books could be so wonderful.I was going to read them.
I never told my mother about my wonderful experience that summer,but she saw a slow but remarkable improvement in my classroom performance during the next year.And years later,she was proud that her son had read thousands of books,was awarded a PhD in the literature,and published his own books,articles,poetry and fiction.The power of the words has held.

A.help cure him of his reading problem

D.the happy ending of the story attracted him
23.What can be inferred from the last paragraph?B

3.Researchers in the United States have developed the first wirelessly controlled device that can supply a drug directly into the body.A small chip is implanted (植入) under the skin.It contains the medicine,which it releases at preset(提前设定的)times.The developers say the device could improve the lives of millions of people who take medicine for long-term illnesses.A company called Microchips began developing the device about fifteen years ago.Last month,the company released the results of its first successful tests in humans.The tests took place in Denmark with seven women with osteoporosis(骨质疏松症).
Osteoporosis causes bones to become weak and break easily.The disorder is common among older people especially women.Many patients have to give themselves daily injection(注射)of medicine.One type of treatment requires injections for two years.The patients stop taking the medicine because of the pain and stress of the injections.As a result,only twenty-five percent of the patients will go through the entire twenty-four months of treatment.
The microchip is a few centimeters long.It has small sections(部分) and each section holds a single dose(单次剂量)of medicine.The device has to be programmed with the times to release the drug.Doctors will be able to reprogram the device from a computer or even a cell phone.
For osteoporosis,the physician will program the device,and the device has the ability to release a dose at a given time,every single day.For other diseases,where the physician may want to change the dosing schedule,they will have the ability to wirelessly reprogram that dosing schedule.
The seven women in the study were ages of sixty-five to seventy.The researchers say the implants were just as effective as daily injections.And they say the medicine amounts were more exact than patients often give themselves.

C.Good News for Women with Osteoporosis
