"That would be a very (44)reasonable(reason) thing to do in a big city, but it could destroy a small village like ours,"Tom said.
Tom's guests,(45)whohad heard their conversation, asked why they should not buy salt more cheaply if they could.Tom replied,"The only reason a man would sell salt(46)ata lower price would be because he was desperate for money. And anyone who took advantage of that situation would be showing a lack of respect(47)forthe sweat and struggle of the man who worked very hard to produce it."
"But such a small thing couldn't(48)possibly(possible) destroy a village."
"In the beginning, there was only(49)avery small amount of unfairness in the world, but everyone added a little,always (50)thinking(think) that it was only small and not very important, and look where we have ended up today.

46.at;考查介词短语.at a lower price以更低的价格.
47.for;考查介词搭配.respect for对…表示尊重.
48.possibly;考查副词.句中possible修饰谓语动词destroy,要用副词形式.
49.a;考查冠词.a very small amount of很少的.
50.thinking;考查分词.句中有逗号分隔,没有连词,要用非谓语动词;think与主语everyone之间构成主谓关系,要用选择分词作原因状语.

6.Even a small reduction in salt in the diet can be a big help to the heart.A new study used a computer model to predict how just three grams less a day would affect heart disease in the United States.
The result:10% fewer heart attacks.8% fewer strokes.4% fewer deaths.11% fewer new cases of heart disease.And 240billion dollars in health care savings.
Researchers found it could prevent 100,000heart attacks and 92,000deaths every year.
The study is in the New England Journal of Medicine.Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo at the University of California San Francisco was the lead author.She says people would not even notice a difference in taste with three grams,or one-half teaspoon,less salt per day.The team also included researchers at Stanford and Columbia University.
Each gram of salt contains four hundred milligrams of sodium(钠),which is how foods may list their salt content.
The government says the average American man eats ten grams of salt a day.The American Heart Association advises no more than three grams for healthy people.It says salt in the American diet has increased by fifty percent since the 1970s,while blood pressures have also risen.Less salt can mean a lower blood pressure.
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is leading an effort called the National Salt Reduction Initiative.The idea is to put pressure on food companies and restaurants.Critics call it government interference.Mayor Bloomberg has already succeeded in other areas,like requiring fast food places in the city to list calorie information.Now a study by the Seattle Children's Research Institute shows that the calorie information on the menu can influence what parents order for their children.

D.all the heart diseases result from eating too much salt
34.The National Salt Reduction Initiative aims toC.
A.attract the public attention to the problem

16.Happiness,true happiness, isn't an achievement or something you can buy.It isn't even the experience of falling in love or getting a second chance. The pleasure you can get from such things is wonderful, but it's not true happiness because such pleasures are brief.Storybooks and movies have given us the lie that all you need to do is accomplish the goal, and you'll live happily ever after. But"ever after"from such endings isn't actually forever.
Imagine that you are in the ocean floating along with the current. You rise up to the top of one wave and sink down into the wave's bottom as it passes by.Bigger waves can take you higher, but they can also hit you down harder and may even cause you to drown. You may be able to surf those bigger waves, allowing you to stay higher for longer periods of time, but evetually they too break and crash down onto the beach, and you will be left again in a low.Eventually you must go out to find another wave to achieve that pleasurable high again,so we continue a cycle of highs and lows.It may seem that  the best way to avoid the sinking beween waves is to simply avoid the waves at all,but that may not be the best idea either.
Happiness isn't absolute rest either.Instead of an ocean, now imagine yourself in a waveless pool without any current at all.It may be quiet and peaceful, but sitting in a pool of water isn't something many of us would want to do for long.Eventaully,we would become bored,Our bodies are constantly going through cycles, ups and down,as they attempt to achieve a state of balance. In a way, these cycles are what drive us to live.
24.How does the author organize Paragraph 2?B

A.the author likes to float on the ocean.
B.people should avoid big waves in life.
C.bigger waves will not leave us in a low.
D.the real life is always full of ups and downs.
26.What should we do if we want to achieve true hapiness?A
A.Achieve a balanced life.
B.Avoid any downs in life.
C.Live a quiet and peaceful life.
D.Try the best to achieve more in life.
27.Which of the following might be the best title for the passage?C
