7.This day marks the rising of a new food startup, the first company to be financed entirely by the crowd, and of it every business thus relies on thousands of customers to grow.Lisa,25,its main founder and CEO,believes it will be a path that will become increasingly popular, and ultimately will produce more thriving(繁荣的)businesses from the scratch.
"In the food industry,no venture capital (VC,风险投资) will even look at you until you've hit a million in sales. As a fresh hand in business, unless you're independently wealthy, you will likely need to raise some money before then,"Lisa complained. So few businesses approached VC firms at the beginning. It was no exception with her. Thus, she turned to a new financing tool at hand, crowdfunding,to raise money from the crowd who'd like to take a bet on her company.
But for a company,it didn't make sense to seek investments when all they had was an idea and a few months of consumer testing data. The food market is extremely competitive. No investor would put money behind a totally unproven new superfood product founded by a bunch of twenty-somethings."But we had a story. And crowds love stories."Lisa said delightedly. So she put together an online crowdfunding campaign, explaining how she began working with this amazingly nutritious plant in the Peace Corps and then started selling it in the U.S.to support the poor in the West Africa.
On the online platform where they were to raise the money,a friend convinced them to change their goal from﹩20,000 to﹩50,000.Lisa stayed up all night worrying they wouldn't hit it.But they reached﹩24,000 in 24 hours and ended their funding with﹩53,000.Seeing the number,Lisa said,"Thank you!To my crowd and for your belief!"

2.Kitchen waste refers to deserted or uneaten refuse produced by household kitchens.It is heavy in weight and can not easily be disposed(处理)of like other garbage due to dampness.
Separating kitchen waste from other waste can help to reduce organic matter in landfills,reducing smell and waste liquid and protecting disposal equipment.It is therefore necessary to perform garbage classification when disposing of kitchen waste.
There are special garbage trucks to process kitchen waste.Labeled"Kitchen Waste",the beds of the trucks are covered in a hermetic(密封的) metal topper to contain the smell of the rotting organic waste.There are two sizes of the trucks-the smaller ones are designed to move through narrow streets,especially in the old-fashioned hutong,the larger ones are for wider streets.
Everyday,they stop at the residential(居住的) communities in Xicheng district,pick up their kitchen waste and carry it to the kitchen waste transfer buildings nearby.And Fengrongyuan residential community is one of them.It has 10residential buildings and 606families.In the afternoon.Two garbage trucks arrive at the community to collect its kitchen waste.The community now has 31sets of garbage cans.Every set has three cans in different colors,green for kitchen waste,blue for recyclable waste and grey for other garbage.
Yang Kun,an official of Financial Street office, said that if residents in the community can respect the waste regulations and make it a standard practice in their daily life, they could be rewarded for their efforts.
After the two trucks are loaded with kitchen waste at Fengronfyuan,they will leave for the Xibianmen garbage storage building,where they are weighed before driving to an area to unload.The building has six big boxes to contain the kitchen waste.
To save resources and promote the disposal of household waste, the first step is garbage classification as conducted by residents.

32.What can be learned about kitchen waste from Paragraph1?A

D.It is necessary for garbage classification.
33.What is needed to prevent the organic waste letting out smell?A
A.Trucks with a hermetic metal popper.

19.
While the presence of rats in homes may cause anxiety and annoyance, they rarely result in driving out the residents. But that is exactly what happened to the inhabitants of the 10-squaremile Hawadax Island off the coast of Alaska,almost 230 years ago.Now thanks to a five-year effort by scientists,the terribly silent"Rat Island"as it had been called for many years has been returned to its rightful owners--birds!
Hawadax Island is part of a chain of volcanic islands in the Bering Sea called the Aleutian Islands.The rats that arrived there in 1780,when a Japanese ship carrying them broke down nearby,completely destroyed the native population because the environment of the island was not built to defend its animals from these predators.There isn't any tree on the Island,which meant that the birds were accustomed to building their nests low in the ground,giving the rodents easy access to both eggs and baby chicks.As years passed,the birds that had called the island home for thousands of years became endangered and eventually,disappeared completely.
In 2007,the U.S.FWS (Fish and Wildlife Service) started a serious plan to rid the island of the rats and try bringing back the beautiful birds that had once called it home.Given that there were an estimated 10,000rodents inhabiting"Rat Island"and the fact that they reproduce rapidly,it was not an easy task.But by 2009,the Island was officially declared rat free!
Then slowly but surely,the birds began to return.Unfortunately,some of the pioneers were unintentionally killed from the leavings of the raticide,a poison that had been used to wipe out the rodents.But now it seems things are becoming more stable and the Island is starting to increasingly look like its former self.Before the transformation,"Hawadax",also known as"Rat Island",was a silent and ghostly place with bird bones,snail remains and rocks covered in rat feces(粪便).
Today birds'singing and flying in and out is a common sight.Tufted puffins and song sparrows,which had long disappeared,are gradually making their way back.Scientists have also been observing an increase in ground nesting and shorebirds.Though the Island is still not back to its full glory,the signs are encouraging and things can only get better,as time passes.

67.The underlined word"that"in Para.1 probably refers toB.
A.the presence of rats           B.birds'being driven out
C.birds'returning to the island    D.residents'worrying about rats
68.Birds on Hawadax Island became an easy target becauseA.
A.this island was treeless     B.they nested randomly
C.they reproduced too rapidly   D.their chicks were extremely weak
69.From the passage,we can know the plan of US FWSC.
A.has helped the island fully recovered
B.cost little but benefited greatly
C.involved poisoning the rats on a large scale
D.accomplished its goal after exactly 24 months
70.Which would be the best title for the passage?D
A.FWS Help Get Rare Birds Back to Alaska Island
B.Japanese Changed a Bird Paradise into Rat Island
C.FWS Plan to Drive Rats Out Of Rat Island
