8.Forgiveness
To forgive is a virtue,but no one has ever said it is easy.When someone has deeply hurt you,it can be extremely difficult to let go of your hate.However,forgiveness is possible,and it can be surprisingly beneficial to your physical and mental health.People who forgive show less sadness,anger and stress and more hopefulness,according to a recent research.
  (71)B Try the following steps:
Calm yourself.(72)F You can take a couple of breaths and think of something that gives you pleasure:a beautiful scene in nature,or someone you love.
Don't wait for an apology.Many times the person who hurt you does not intend to apologize.They may have wanted to hurt you or they just don't see things the same way.(73)G Keep in mind that forgiveness does not necessarily mean becoming friends again with the person who upset you.
Take the control away from your offender(冒犯者).Rethinking about you hurt gives power to the person who causes you pain.Instead of focusing on your mounded feelings,learn to look for the love,beauty and kindness around you.
(74)E If you understand your offender,you may realize that he or she was acting out of unawareness,fear,and even love.You may want to write a letter to yourself from your offender's point of view.
Don't forget to forgive yourself.(75)D But it can rob you of your self-confidence if you don't do it.

A.Why should you forgive?
B.How should you start to forgive?
C.Recognize the benefits of forgiveness.
D.Try to see things from you offender's angle.
E.For some people,forgiving themselves is the biggest challenge.
F.To make your anger die away,try a simple stress-management technique.
G.If you wait for people to apologize,you could be waiting an awfully long time.

Don't wait for an apology一致.故选G.
74.E  本题考查段落大意的总结,根据If you understand your offender以及You may want to write a letter to yourself from your offender's point of view.

The baby's mother was killed,most likely by a poacher.On Wednesday,November 17,2010,an anti-poaching team was removing the deadly wire traps that poachers set throughout the park.Luckily,a member of the team spotted the baby and rushed to help her.

18.Drunken driving-sometimes called America's socially accepted form of murder-has become a national epidemic (流行病).Every hour of every day about three Americans on average are killed by drunken drivers, adding up to an incredible 250,000 over the past ten years.
A drunken driver is usually referred to as one with 0.10-blood alcohol content or roughly three beer glasses of wine or shots of whisky drunk within two hours.Heavy drinking used to be an acceptable part of the American manly image and judges were lenient in most courts, but the drunken killing has recently caused so many well-publicized tragedies, especially concerning young children, that public opinion is no longer so tolerant.
Twenty states have raised the legal drinking age to 21,reversing a trend (逆转潮流) in the 1960s to reduce it to 18.After New Jersey lowered it to 18,the number of people killed by 18-20-year-old drivers more than doubled,so the state recently upped it back to 21.Reformers,however,fear raising the drinking age will have little effect unless accompanied by educational programs to help young people to develop"responsible attitudes"about drinking and teach them to resist peer pressure to drink.
Though new laws have led to increased arrests and tests in many areas already,to a marked drop in accidents, some states are also punishing bars for serving customers too many drinks.A bar in Massachusetts was fined for serving six or more double brandies to a customer who was"obviously drunk"and later drove off the road, killing a nine-year-old boy.
As the accidents continue to occur daily in every state, some Americans are even beginning to speak well of the 13 years national ban of alcohol that began in 1919,which President Hoover called the"noble experiment".They forgot that legal prohibition didn't stop drinking, but encouraged political corruption (腐败) and organized crime. As with the booming drug trade generally, there is no easy solution.

31.What can be inferred from the fact of the traffic accidents in New Jersey?D
A.Young drivers were usually bad.
B.Drivers should not be allowed to drink.

B.It may lead to organized crime.
C.The new laws can stop heavy drinking
D.There should be no bars to serve drinks.
34.In America, the number of people killed by drunken drivers on average isC.
A.3 per day
B.250,000 over the last 10 years
C.72 each day

35.Drunken driving has become a major national problem becauseB.
