Spider webs are one of the most fascinating examples of animal architecture. The most beautiful and structurally ordered are the round webs. The main function of the web is to stop and hold flying insects， long enough for the spider to catch them. In order to do so，the threads of the web have to stand the forces from large and heavy insects as well as environmental forces from wind and rain for at least a day in most cases.
The round web is found to have two main characteristics. The first is its geometry，which consists of an outer frame and a central part from which threads radiate outward. Enclosed in the frame are capture spirals winding round and round from the web center out to the frame. The whole web is in tension and held in place by anchor threads，which connect the frame to the surrounding plants or objects. The second and perhaps most important characteristic is the material with which it is built. Spider silk is a kind of natural material that gives this lightweight fiber a strength comparable to that of steel， while at the same time making it very elastic（有弹性的）. Two types of silk threads are used in the web. One is highly elastic and can stretch to almost twice its original length before breaking and， for most types of spiders，is covered in glue. This type is used in the capture spiral for catching and holding insects. The other is stiffer and stronger，and is used for the radius，frames and anchor threads，which allows the web to stand forces and to keep its structural strength through a wide range of environmental conditions.

Some spiders hunt on the ground, others build webs to trap their food, but the grass water spider catches its prey by running along the surface of the water.
This special water spider lives on the grassy banks of streams where mosquitoes, damsel flies and other insects come to feed and breed.

It is only when the female spider is caring for the young that she does not hunt on the water. After mating, she produces a large egg sac(囊), which she carries around for five weeks. Once the eggs start to hatch, she attaches the sac to some blades of grass or a thistle. She then tears the sac open and releases the tiny spiders into the nursery web.

3D films are fun一of course they are, even the bad ones. But these movies are still in their infancy. The question is whether 3D filmmakers can do better.
I have no doubt they will, but I believe they will achieve cosmetic changes around the edges rather than revolutionary breakthroughs. 3D filmmakers don't realize, or at least have not sufficiently taken to heart, that the medium they're working in is binocular (同时用双目的)film, not merely 3D film. And once one realizes this, it is possible to see that whole fields of potential film experi?ence have been left entirely untapped.
When we say 3D movies, we are referring to stereopisis (立体视觉）. But binocular vision refers to the use of two eyes for vision, whereas stereopsis is just one of the functions binocular vision gives us.
Why do we have such a large binocular vision field in the first place? I have argued in my book，The Vision Revolution，that we have forward-facing eyes in order to see well in cluttered forest habitats. Our large binocular field evolved for seeing past layers of clutter( 一堆杂乱的东西),and integrating two different views of a scene into a single combined view. I call this function of binocu?lar vision “X-ray vision” because it allows us to see the clutter as semi-transparent, something through which to see the scene beyond.
If 3D filmmakers are going to throw binocular images at our big binocular field, then they should be sending us views of the kind that field evolved to process ： views within cluttered environ?ments ,whether leafy forests or spider-web-filled rooms. In this light, 3D film ought to put the viewer into the bodies and eyes of characters in the story，placing him or her into the interactions between the characters and their surroundings. This would allow viewers to truly see out of the eyes of others, to experience other worlds, and yet not have the views of the scenes beyond blocked out, just as in real life.
