    　　“It hurts me more than you”, and “This is for your own good”－these are the statements my mother used to make to raise my sense of discipline(纪律)when I had to learn Latin, clean my room, stay home and do homework．

    　　That was before we entered the permissive period in education in which we decided it was all right not to push our children to achieve their best in school．The schools and the educators made it easy for us．They taught that it was all right to be parents who take a let-alone policy．We stopped making our children do homework．We gave them calculators, turned on the television, left the teaching to the teachers and went on vacation．

    　　Now teachers, faced with children who have been developing at their own pace for the past 15 years, are realizing we’ve made a terrible mistake．One such teacher is Sharon Clomps who says of her students－“so passive”－and wonders what has happened．Nothing is demanded of them, she believes．Television, says Clomps, contributes to children’s passivity(被动)．“We’re talking about a generation of kids who’ ve never been hurt or hungry．They have learned somebody will always do it for them, instead of saying ‘go and look it up’, you tell them the answer．It takes greater energy to say no to a kid．”

    　　Yes, it does．It takes energy and it takes work．It’s time for parents to end their vacation and come back to work．It’ s time to turn the TV off, to tell them it hurts you more than them but it’ s for their own good．It’s s time to start telling them no again．

    　　“Only once was I given any money,” she whispered, her voice trembling, “and that was by your wife．Three dollars, nothing more．”

    　　“Really? You see now, and I didn't know that! Take three from fourteen－that leaves eleven．Here's your money, my dear．Three, three, three, one and one．Here it is!”

    　　I handed her eleven dollars．She took them and pocketed them．

    　　“Merci(法语：谢谢),”she whispered．

    　　I jumped to my feet and started pacing the room．I was overcome with anger．“For what, this ‘merci'?” I asked．

    　　“For the money．”

    　　“But you know I've cheated you－robbed you! I have actually stolen from you! Why this ‘merci'?”

    　　“In my other places they didn't give me anything at all．”

    　　“They didn't give you anything? No wonder! I played a little joke on you, a cruel lesson, just to teach you．．．I m going to give you all the eighty dollars! Here they are in the envelope all ready for you．．．Is it really possible to be so spineless(懦弱)?Why didn't you protest? Why were you silent?          CBC is a famous air company which has over twenty planes carrying passengers and goods, flying
    along 12 fixed lines all over the world. Its service is very good but some passengers are still not satisfied
    with it and that is why in 1998 and 1999 the company received letters of complaints(投诉) from consumers
    or passengers who pointed out over a dozen kinds of problems which are divided in groups in the following
    table. This division is called Category. Problems that appear when the plane is flying are Flight problems.
    Those about passengers' things carried by the plane are Baggage problems. Customer service refers to
    service work which passengers are not satisfied with. Over sales of seats are about the fact that more seats
    are sold and as a result the plane is too crowded to be safe. Refund problems appear when passengers fail

    booked. Tours are problems about the passengers'traveling by air or hotel problems. Advertising is what the
