Two friends visited the zoo together. The zoo was very large and it was 1 to go everywhere. They had to decide where and which animal to visit as their time was 2. So both of them agreed not to 3 after choosing a 4 at every fork (岔路口).
A road sign at the first fork 5 one way to the lion quarters and the other to the tiger hill. They decided on the 6 after a 7 discussion because lions were “the king of the grassland”. Thus they made choices all along the way and each choice meant 9 what they could regret. But they had to make it10, for it brooked (容忍) no delay. If they hesitated they would miss 11. Only 12 decision could offer more chances for sightseeing and 13 possible regret.
Life is 14 like this—choices often occur that one has to make, for example, between two 15 jobs, two fascinating wooers (追求者). To get one you 16 give up the other—you can get half of it. Don’t be sad about it. 19 you have got half of the desirable things in life—something that is 20 to get.

I was tired and hungry after a long day of work. When I walked into the living-room, my 12-year-old son looked 1 at me and said, “I love you.” I didn't know what to say. 2 several seconds all I could do was to stand there and 3 down at him . My first thought was that he must need 4with his homework or he was trying to 5me for some news.
Finally I asked, “What was that all about?” “Nothing,” he said. “My teacher said we should 6our parents that we love them and sees what they say. It’s 7.
The next day I called his teacher to find out more about this “experiment” and how the other parents had 8.
“Basically, most of the fathers had the 9 reaction as you did,” the teacher said. “When I first 10 we try this, I asked the children what they thought their parents would say. Some of them thought their parents would have heart trouble.
“The 11 is,” the teacher explained, “feeling loved is an important part of  12 . It is something all people 13. What I'm trying to tell the children is that it's too 14 we don't all express those feeling. A boy 15  tell his dad he loves him.”
The teacher, a middle-aged man, understands how 16 it is for some of us to say the things that would be good for us to say.
When my son came to me that evening, I held on to him for a (n) 17 moment. And just 18 he pulled away , I said in my deepest , most manly voice , “Hey , I love you , too . ”
I don't know if saying that made either of us healthier, but it did feel pretty good. Maybe next time one of my children says “I love you”, it would not take me a whole   19  to think of the right        20 .
