2.I've heard that it's better to give than to receive,but I think that both of them have their special magic.
When I was nine years old,my parents went to work in a faraway(遥远的) state.Before they left,they took me and my younger sister to the shelter of my grandparents,who would take care of our needs with meals,love and transportation to and from a lot of activities and lessons.At that young age,I had no choice but to become independent,although sometimes I felt upset,lonely and angry.I knew that if no one could meet my needs,I would have to become completely self-sufficient(自给自足).Believe it or not,I got a little carried away.Finally,I become so successful that I could take care of everyone in my life.
Once,I took my son to see Santa Claus.When my son wanted to buy the picture that was taken,I opened my wallet,only to find that I didn't have enough money.When I got to the checkout counter to take back the picture,I was told that a man in line ahead of me had seen me counting my change and had paid for the picture for me,The color rushed into  my checks when other customers strangely stared at me.I realized that it was okay to let someone do something for me,even if I could have done it myself.
I believe that we are all in this wonderful world together.It's not about my strength and independence or how much I have.It's about allowing the giver to be blessed when the gift is received.Now I know that giving and receiving are two halves of a whole,each incomplete without the other.
28.Why was the author brought up by her grandparents?A

13.Country music is one of the most popular kinds of music in the United States today because it is about simple but strong human feelings and events--love,sadness,good times, and bad times. It tells real-life stories and sounds the way people really talk.As life becomes more complicated(复杂),it is good to hear music about ordinary people.

Today country music is also popular everywhere in the United States and Canada-in small towns and in New York City, among black and white, and among educated and uneducated people.About 1,200 radio stations broadcast country music twenty-four hours a day.English stars sing it in British English, and people in other countries sing it in their own languages. The music that started with cowboys and poor southerners is now popular all over the world.
