A lot of people wonder why so many Chinese children are maths geniuses and musical prodigies(神童). Amy Chua explains why in her Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother. 1. Born in the United States to Chinese immigrant parents, Chua married a man who she met at Harvard University, and when their two daughters were born she was determined that they would be as successful as she was.
Her system had strict rules. Her two daughters were expected to be number one in every subject. Playing with friends and TV was forbidden. Think about the different ways that people use the wind. You can use it to fly a kite or to sail a boat. Wind is one of our cleanest and richest power sources, as well as one of the oldest. Today, I had a very had luck. I was fighting for fun with some classmates after physical education. I wave my arm with such great strong that my watch got loose and flew off my wrist! Just then, some girls were passing by and a flying watch hit one girl’s mouth exactly, these two teeth were knocked off. My mother was called in to deal the matter. We made an apology to the girl but took her to hospital to treat my wound.
I was teaching a great lesson in this incident. I shouldn’t have been made sudden and strong actions. From now on, I’ll take care to do anything, acting quiet and carefully!
