16.How will traditional print media forge a working relationship with news websites in the digital age? This is a question that both sides need to consider from a long-term viewpoint.
The conviction(定罪) of a software developer for going against the property rights of the Beijing News by using what the newspaper had published on its iPad service reveals only a tip of the iceberg when it comes to the illegal use of print media's content by news websites. In this case, the software developer used content published by 60 papers without their knowledge.
The Beijing News won the case and the intellectual property rights violator was ordered to pay 100,000 yuan in compensation. If anything, this can be considered a minor victory for the Beijing News, compared to its three similar suits over the past decade.
Yet,the Beijing News is alone in the fight.Other media outlets choose to turn a blind eye to the piracy because they wouldn't bother to take the lot of time and energy for the lawsuit with a likely compensation that might not be enough to cover the costs for winning the case.
Considering this situation, print media and news websites must work out a way to cooperate in a manner that will benefit both.
In the long run,it will be impossible and impractical for news websites to live on print media. With the progress protecting intellectual property rights in recent years, there will be no way for them to use the content free of charge all the time. They must find a way to cooperate with traditional print media in such a way that they can legally use their resources.
For the part of print media outlets, they must rise up to protect their rights for their own existence. There should be an environment to make it very costly for whoever threatens intellectual property rights. Then most print media organizations could afford to bring violators to court. On the other hand,costly,time-consuming and troublesome as such suits are, more print media must rise up so that more pressure will put on both the violators and the courts. Then they will be able to improve the environment for themselves and break the illegal cycle.

56.How many suits has Beijing News ever lodged(提起)?C
A.Only one.
B.Exactly three.
C.At least four.
D.More than five.
57.Which of the following can be a reason for there to be few such suits?B
A.The court doesn't pay much attention to such boring suits as usually last a long time.
B.Print media outlets don't think it worth thei r efforts.
C.Engineers on the news websites are usually far cleverer to win such cases.
D.There are few examples of winning such suits.
58.Why does the author insist that more news media should rise up?C
A.They can receive a certain compensation for their intellectual property rights.
B.They should try their best to trouble the courts with more pressure.
C.Their joint efforts can lead to a better environment for their own existence.
D.The piracy of the news websites is no longer tolerable.
59.What's probably the meaning of the underlined word"violator"in the third paragraph?D
A.Somebody who makes a lot of money against the law.
B.Somebody who keeps something secret from others.
C.A person who is determined to publish news illegally.
D.A person who does something against the law.

13.请阅读下面短文,并按照要求用英语写一篇150 词左右的文章.
Every one of us,rich or poor, should at least have one or two good friends. My friends will listen to me when I want to speak, will wipe my eyes when I cry, will take care of me when I am sick, and my friends will go together with me side by side through this journey of life.
A true friendship carries a long history of experience that determines who we are and keeps us connected. It is a treasure we should protect.Just hanging out together from time to time is not friendship.Friendship means lifelong friends who feel it's very necessary to give each other whatever help that might be required.Unfortunately, the better friends you are,the more probably you'll have disagreements. And the result can be what you don't want-an end to the relationship. The good news is that most troubled friendships can be mended.
【写作内容】
1.用约30个单词概述上文概要;
2.结合上述信息,谈谈你对朋友的看法及朋友对你的影响;
3.根据你的认识,谈谈当朋友之间发生矛盾时该怎么处理.
【写作要求】
1.写作过程中不能直接引用原文语句;
2.作文中不能出现真实姓名和学校名称;
3.不必写标题.
【评分标准】
内容完整,语言规范,语篇连贯,词数适当.
Friendship plays a very important role in our life. It's just like a cup of tea. When we're thirsty,it'll be our best choice.True friendship lasts forever even though sometimes it is troubled.(34 words)
As students,we can share more time with our friends.I often feel very lucky to have a lot of good friends, especially when I have Jim as one of my best friends. We have shared happiness and sorrows with each other since we were classmates at primary school. And we help each other with our study.
What if our friendship is troubled?First,we should never let our pride get in our way. Most of us can forgive each other when differences are brought out in the open.Second, apologize when we're wrong-even if we've been wronged. What's more, see things from our friends'point of view.Last but not least, accept that friendships change as our needs and lifestyles change.(123 words).

12.Prosocial behaviors are those intended to help other people.Behaviors that can be described as prosocial include feeling empathy(同感) and concern for others and behaving in ways to help or benefit other people.
Prosocial behavior has long posed a challenge to social scientists seeking to understand why people engage in helping behaviors that are beneficial to others, but costly to the individual performing the action. Why would people do something that benefits someone else but offers no immediate benefit to the doer?
Psychologists suggest that there are a number of reasons why people engage in prosocial behavior.In manycases,such behaviors are fostered during childhood and adolescence as adults encourage children to share,act kindly,and help others.Prosocial behaviors are often seen as being compelled by a number of factors including egoistic reasons (doing things to improve one's self-image),reciprocal benefits (doing something nice for someone so that they may one day return the favor),and more altruistic reasons (performing actions purely out of empathy for another individual).
Characteristics of the situation can also have a powerful impact on whether or not people engage in prosocial actions.The bystander effect is one of the most notable examples of how the situation can impact helping behaviors.The bystander effect refers to the tendency for people to become less likely to assist a person in distress when there are a number of other people also present.For example,if you drop your purse and several items fall out on the ground,the likelihood that someone will stop and help you decreases if there are many other people present.This same sort of thing can happen in cases where someone is in serious danger,such as when someone is involved in a car accident.In some cases,witnesses might assume that since there are so many other people present,someone else will have surely already called for help.
Why do people help in some situations but not in others?Experts have discovered a number of different situational variables that contribute to (and sometimes interfere with) prosocial behaviors.First,the more people that are present decreases the amount of personal responsibility people feel in a situation.People also tend to look to others for how to respond in such situations,particularly if the event contains some level of ambiguity.Fear of being judged by other members of the group also plays a role.People sometimes fear leaping to assistance,only to discover that their help was unwanted or unwarranted.In order to avoid being judged by other bystanders,people simply take no action.
Experts have suggested that some key things must happen in order for a person to take action.

61.Prosocial behaviors are motivated for all the following reasons EXCEPTB.
A.empathy for another individual
B.instant benefits of helping others
C.parental influences in the early life
D.the desire to better one's self-image
62.What does the underlined word"distress"in the fourth paragraph mean?D
A.peace
B.despair
C.comfort
D.trouble
63.Which situation can be described as the bystander effect?A
A.When hearing an injured lady crying for help,the neighbors didn't take action.
B.Seeing an old man slipping on the icy road,many people volunteered to help.
C.A woman was to give birth on the train and you were the only doctor there.
D.On the scene of your colleague's traffic accident, you called the police for help
64.After the last paragraph,the most possible topic could beD.
A.possible benefits of prosocial behavior
B.various reasons for prosocial behavior
C.situational influences on prosocial behavior
D.skills and knowledge to provide assistance.

7.
It's not a chocolate coin wrapped in gold foil,people.That's actual metal that composes that Olympic medal,so why do athletes bite them?There's actually a few reasons,but the most obvious is that it's a pose photographers really,really like to capture.
"It's become an obsession (迷恋) with the photographers,"David Wallechinsky,the president of the International Society of Olympic Historians and co-author of"The Complete Book of the Olympics"told CNN in 2012."I think they look at it as an iconic(偶像的) shot,as something that you can probably sell.I don't think it's something the athletes would probably do on their own."
Biting down on a piece of metal is more likely something someone might have done during the Gold Rush to test whether the shiny golden rock they just panned (淘洗) for was actually pyrite (硫化金) or fool's gold.Human teeth are harder than gold but softer than pyrite,according to the Mohs Hardness Scale,which categorizes how easily minerals scratch.This means a quick bite to real gold would actually leave an indentation(缺口,凹进).A hard chew of pyrite,meanwhile,might damage your teeth.
The practice also once served to see whether coins were solid gold or just gold-plated (镀金) over a cheaper metal,Today I Found Out explains.With that in mind,it's likely that Old West/pirate lore (传说) led to someone once biting their Olympic medal in a spontaneous (自动的,自发的),"Is this real life?"moment,and the photographers thought it was cute.Because if someone really was hoping to discover whether that gold medal is pure gold,their smiles would quickly fade.
Olympic gold medals are actually just 1.34 percent gold.The rest is silver.And much of it is recycled silver this time around,which makes the 2016 Rio medals"the most sustainable ever made,"according to Forbes magazine contributor Anthony DeMarco (via ABC News).DeMarco says the materials that make up a"gold"medal are worth﹩564.
Winning athletes would be better served to make sure the checks they receive for coming out on top don't bounce.Along with their gold medals,Olympic winners get﹩25,000 prizes.

28.Your teeth won't be damaged according to the passage when you biteB.
A.pyrite     B.gold       C.fool's gold      D.gold-plated metals
29.Which of the following statements is TRUE about athletes biting Olympic medals?D
A.The photos of biting medals sell well for athletes.
B.Athletes are keen on biting medals when photographed.
C.Olympic medals are chocolate coins wrapped in gold foil.
D.Athletes are required by photographers to bite medals.
30.The underlined"solid"in Paragraph 4 is closest in meaning toA.
A.pure          B.hard       C.strong        D.fake
31.From the last three paragraphs,we can infer thatC.
A.Old West pirate judged gold by biting it
B.Olympic gold medals are made of a little gold
C.it's winning not pure gold medals that make athletes smile
D.photographers thought that athletes'biting gold medals was cute.
