It was they who first tried to persuade Hilton to remain open all night. He thought about it for a while, and then suddenly made up his mind.He took the door key and threw it across the road.He hasn't closed the door3.
Over the years his simple burger cafe has expanded into a 24-hour roadside empire, with a 100-seat restaurant,a petrol station,a mini shopping market,a car park4mobile homes(活动住房) and all night self-help laundry.
Hilton was a pioneer in a 24-hour5which has now caught on around the world.Today not only restaurants but also banks, supermarkets, mail order firms, travel agencies and many other businesses are6to be open all night. 7is this really a good thing?

As a student, my grandfather spent countless hours in his office2and completing assignments. Although he was twice as3as his professors, he loved going. He said,“You can never4too much, no matter how old you are.”He loved everything about school. Learning new things was truly his passion.
My grandfather’s will to learn was a great5for me to do my best in school. We were always6with each other, trying to bring home the better grade.

In my times of need he was always there to13me and celebrate my accomplishments. I could count on him to help me out and stand by me. The strength he14with me will continue to hold me up as I forever keep his memory15in my heart and mind.

When I met Mr Jim Lemon I was a seventeen-year-old freshman at Houston's Jackson Junior High. The chances of my finishing high school were 1. I was a troubled teenage.
Mr Lemon taught American history and was quite 2from the other teachers I had known. Not only was he 3, but also he was a great teacher. He pushed and never tolerated the mediocrity(平庸) that had become my standard.

Ten years later I was preparing to graduate from a university when I spoke to him again .13I did get him on the phone, I told him that I had been saving money so that I could invite him to come to Hawaii at my 14to be a part of my graduation.
I'11 never forget his 15. He said,"Who is this again?" I was just one of hundreds of the students whose life he changed 16he had no idea of his influence.
Mr Lemon never came to my graduation, but his 17taught me another valuable lesson. His final lesson for me was that we will never know or understand the 18we have on other people's lives. He taught me that we all have the 19to effect people's lives for the 20... Or for the worse.
