On Sunday, the day after my second visit to the Saturn store, my wife, Jane, said, “I don’t know if you remember, but today’s my fifth anniversary of being cancer-free.” She had been 　36 with breast cancer five years ago and undergone surgery. I was 　37 that I had forgotten.

It was the last day of the final examination in a large eastern university. On the steps of one building, a group of engineering seniors gathered, 31 the exam due to begin in a few minutes. On their faces was confidence. This was their 32 exam — then on to graduation and jobs.
