About 20 years ago, I was lucky to teach a disabled young woman named Audrey. Not only was she good at math and science, but she was also very¡¡ 21¡¡ in art. She could draw and paint beautifully. When Audrey graduated from university, she got two¡¡ 22¡¡ , one in fine arts and one in chemistry. Not too many people do well in two such¡¡ 23¡¡ areas of study.
Just before her high school graduation, Audrey¡¡ 24¡¡ me a wonderful gift. It was a watercolour painting of a mother and her baby. A tear¡¡ 25¡¡ from the mother¡¯s eye as she looked¡¡ 26¡¡ at her child. Under the painting, Audrey had¡¡ 27¡¡ these words: ¡°The deep love from Mother, ¡¡ 28¡¡ me, touches another.¡± What a beautiful gift! I had the piece of art framed and¡¡ 29¡¡ in my office.
Years passed with many¡¡ 30¡¡ from one office to another and I¡¡ 31¡¡ the painting. Last year, after about eight years of not knowing where it was, I¡¡ 32¡¡ a phone call from a former colleague who said she had 33¡¡ of mine. It was the picture Audrey had painted for me 18 years earlier. When cleaning out a storage room, she had¡¡ 34¡¡ my gift.
I was struck that the¡¡ 35¡¡ gift came back. I knew Audrey very well. When she was four years old, Audrey had a serious¡¡ 36¡¡ . What¡¯s worse, her father left the house. It was her mother who brought her up with much trouble. She¡¡ 37¡¡ it but was disabled.
To¡¡ 38¡¡ , it is just a painting, but to me it shows how a mother¡¯s love has helped¡¡ 39¡¡ a talent and how its¡¡ 40¡¡ pushes me ahead.

In our life, we have rarely expressed our gratitude to those who have lived with us these years. In fact, we do not have to ¡¡ 31¡¡ a special time to thank the ones ¡¡ 32¡¡ to us. If you have ¡¡ 33¡¡ anything about giving thanks, it should be this: ¡¡ 34¡¡ it now! Saying thanks is such a(n) ¡¡ 35¡¡ way to add happiness to the ¡¡ 36¡¡ .
Saying thanks not only brightens someone else¡¯s world, but also brightens yours. If you are feeling ¡¡ 37¡¡ or unloved, try reaching out to others. It may be just the medicine that you ¡¡ 38¡¡ .
Of course, sometimes you cannot express gratitude ¡¡ 39¡¡ . In that case, do not fall into ¡¡ 40 ¡ª speak up the first time you have a ¡¡ 41¡¡ .
Once a young man, whose name was Mark Brian, was sent to a ¡¡ 42¡¡ of India. The villagers, he had been told before, did not have a ¡¡ 43¡¡ for ¡°thank you¡±. But on arriving there, Mark Brian found that those villagers expressed their ¡¡ 44¡¡ in other ways. Instead of saying thanks, it is their custom to ¡¡45¡¡ every favor with a favor of their own, and every kindness with the ¡¡ 46¡¡ or more kindness. They did express their thanks.
I ¡¡ 47¡¡ if we had no words in our ¡¡ 48¡¡ for thank you¡±, would we do a better job of communicating our gratitude? And would we be more responsive (»ØÓ¦µÄ), more ¡¡ 49¡¡ and more caring?
Thankfulness can be transferred (´«µÝ) among people all around us¡ªincluding ourselves, ¡¡ 50¡¡ no one ever misunderstands a thankful heart.

Soon Tommy¡¯s parents, who had recently separated (·Ö¾Ó), would arrive for a meeting on his failing schoolwork and ¡¡36 behavior. Neither parent knew that I had called up ¡¡37 .
Tommy, an only child, had ¡¡38 been happy, cooperative, and an excellent student. How could I make his father and mother ¡¡39 that his recent failing grades ¡¡40 a brokenhearted child¡¯s reaction to his respected parents¡¯ separation and possible ¡¡41 ?
Tommy¡¯s mother came in and ¡¡42 one of the chairs I had placed near my desk. Then the father ¡¡43 and was surprised to see his wife. They pointedly ignored each other.
As I gave a detailed ¡¡44 of Tommy¡¯s behavior and schoolwork, I prayed for the ¡¡45 words to bring these two together to help them see what they were doing to their son. ¡¡46 somehow the words wouldn¡¯t come.
I found a crumpled (ŪÖåµÄ), tear-stained ¡¡47 in the back of Tommy¡¯s desk. Writing covered both sides, a single ¡¡48 scribbled (ÂÒд) over and over.

At last he folded the paper carefully and ¡¡51 his wife¡¯s hand. She wiped the tears from her ¡¡52 and smiled up at him. I also couldn¡¯t keep back tears, but ¡¡53 seemed to notice.
In this way I used the words to ¡¡54 that family. On the sheet of yellow copy paper ¡¡55 with the painful outpouring of a small boy¡¯s troubled heart, it said, ¡°Dear Mother; Dear Daddy; I love you. I love you. I love you.¡±
