读写任务(共1题,满分25分)
阅读下面的短文,然后按照要求写一篇150词左右的英语短文。
There is no doubt that watching television can influence the way that people behave. Moreover, it seems that people are spending more and more time watching some sort of visual entertainment, whether it is television, a video tape or a DVD. Therefore, the effects of visual media cannot be ignored.
One obvious effect of these media is that watching them induces people to buy certain products. Television advertising is widespread and, nowadays, even movie theaters permit advertisements. Another way TV and the movies affect people is that they give people either a    broader view of the world or a distorted one, depending on what type of program they watch.         Those who watch news and educational program can learn many new things while those who watch primarily entertainment shows may come to believe that most people in the world possess   great wealth and good looks. It may make them become dissatisfied with their own lives. Finally, perhaps the most susceptible viewers are children, who may be unable to tell fact from fiction and   may try to imitate acts that they see on TV or in the movies. And this is just what most parents and our society are worried about.
With the every-increasing popularity of video entertainment, we must pay attention to these effects.

Early rising is helpful in more than one way. First, it helps us to have good health. We all need fresh air. It makes our health better to take morning exercises. The air is never so fresh as early in the morning. Early rising helps us in our studies. In the morning we learn more quickly and find it easy to learn something by heart.

Early rising makes people able to plan the work for the day. We can’t work well without a good plan. Just as the plan for the year should be made in the spring, the plan for a day should be made in the morning. Early rising gives us enough time to get ready for our work, such as to wash our hands and eat our breakfast. So the popular saying says, “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.”

51. What does “early rising” mean in the passage?

A. waking up     B. getting up      C. have breakfast     D. making a day’s plan

52. Why does the passage advise us to take exercises early in the morning?

A. Because we can save much time.       B. Because we are not busy in the morning.

C. Because air in the morning is very fresh. D. Because we don’t need to prepare for breakfast.

53. We can work well with _____.

A. enough time    B. a good reading   C. clean hands       D. a good plan

阅读理解

Reading is the key to school success and it takes practice.A child learns to walk by practicing until he no longer has to think about how to put one foot in front of the other.A great athlete practices until he can play quickly, accurately, without thinking.Tennis players call that “being in the zone”.Educators call it “automatically”.

A child learns to read by sounding out the letters and decoding the words. With practice, he stumbles less and less. Then automatically, he doesn’t have to think about the meanings of the words, so he can concentrate on the meaning of the text.

It can begin as early as first grade. In a recent study of children in Illinois schools, Alan Rossman of Northwestern University found automatic readers in the first grade who were reading almost three times as fast as the other children and scoring twice as high on comprehension tests.“It’s not IQ but the amount of time a child spends reading that is the key to automaticity, ” according to Rossman. You can test your child by giving him a paragraph or two to read aloud-something unfamiliar but appropriate to his age.If he reads aloud with expression, with a sense of the meaning of the sentences, he probably is an automatic reader. If he reads haltingly, one word at a time, without expression or meaning, he needs more practice.

本文是议论文。文章说明阅读是获得学业成功的关键,阅读需要实践。根据Rossman的研究,人们自觉性阅读的能力是在实践中逐渐养成的。
