题目列表(包括答案和解析)

Hi Mary,

Thank you for writing to me and I will try to give you some ideas about improving(提高) your written English. The bad news, of course, is that there is no e   77    way to do this. It takes work.

Improving your English, like getting better at anything else, means lots of practice. I think you already know enough words and grammar in English to make sentences and to understand English, and the problem you have is as the problem all Chinese students have when they learn English. You go to English class a couple of times a week and the rest of the time you speak Chinese. If you come to Canada, your English would improve very         q  78    because you would use it all day, every day. It’s just practice.

To improve your writing in English, you should do the following t   79    things. First, you should try to read English as much as possible. It doesn’t matter what you read, so pick something that interests you. Reading English will show you how English words are used together, how English speakers express themselves and so on, so you can learn a lot from that. Then you should practice writing. Ask your teacher if you can get extra assignments and write things like short stories. Your teacher can s   80    you where you make mistakes and how to correct them. You can also write more letters to English speakers on the Internet (I will be happy to exchange letters with you if that will help). Don’t worry if you make mistakes     b  81    that is how you learn.

You say you can not obey your plans. In English we say, “Plan the work, work the plan.” You need a plan and then you need to follow your plan to improve.

I hope these ideas are u   82   . I wish you luck, and if you want to write to me I will be happy to try to help you. We can talk about China, about Canada or anything else you like.

Best wishes,

Brad Flankin

In the coming summer holidays, you will probably visit the Shanghai Expo. Before you head off to
the Expo, please read the following tips so that you behave properly and show off China's best face to
visitors from other countries.
     When waiting in a line
Wait patiently instead of cutting to the front of the line. If you have to leave your spot in line and want
to come back , tell the people standing in front of and behind you. Ask them to kindly hold your spot, and
thank them when you return .
     When touring the Expo
Don't touch or climb on exhibits. Visitors are allowed to take pictures and videos around the Expo, but
when cameras are not welcome, don't turn yours on . If souvenirs are handed out , don't push and scream.
Be polite and wait your turn.
       When attending shows
If you are late, wait until the break to enter. It will disturb other audience if you walk in late.
It's very impolite to leave in the middle of a musical or stage play .If an early exit is necessary, you can
leave after a scene is over.
Keep quiet during a performance .Before the performance starts, either turn off your mobile phone or
set it to silent mode. Never answer your phone while a performance is going on .

Kitty is writing to Ricky about a mini-concert she is organizing at school. Read the e-mail.

Dear Ricky

Thank you for your help. Our charity show was really a big success. Because of this success, our school decided to organize another event this June. I felt very glad that the Grade 8 students chose me as their representative.

We have decided to organize a mini-concert, which aims to raise money for a charity. There are many things to do before the show. We have to decide the fees for the tickets and to collect donations from people who come to the concert. I am responsible for doing several duties. The representatives from the upper grades do more things. I have to design and give out leaflets to people and ask for their support. We hope that they will give some donations for our show. I also have to call the flower shop to send in flowers and arrange them in the theatre.

We have a singing group in each grade and they will sing the most popular songs in our mini-concert. The host of the show is the captain of out school football team. Everyone has shown a lot of support for our show. I am sure the show will be a big success.

The mini-concert is so meaningful. It is also fun. I hope you can come that night. I can buy a ticket for you. I hope to hear from you soon.

Love

Kitty

Kitty told Amy about the mini-concert. Amy is telling Shirley about it but she forgets some of the details. Write a T if the sentence is true. Write an F if it is false.
