Each year, many Chinese people go abroad because of all kinds of reasons. They are becoming younger and younger year by year. Even some Chinese parents send their children to foreign countries when they are only in a middle school. They think their children can get a wider view, less academic(学业) competition or family honor. But life can be hard for young people there. At first, they have to face the culture differences and language problems. However, these are not always the most difficult things to overcome(克服). To most children, controlling(管理) themselves well is a big challenge when studying alone in a strange country.

THE University of St Andrews is the setting of royal(皇家的) love: on the grounds of this great Scottish university Prince William and Kate Middleton first met and fell in love.

More than that, St Andrews is Scotland's first university and one of the oldest universities in the English-speaking world. Founded in 1413 (just after Oxford and Cambridge), over 600 hundred years, the university has been well known as one of Europe's leading and most distinctive centres for teaching and research.

St Andrews is located in a small, historical town to the coast(海滨)of North East Scotland. The university itself is the perfect place for learning. On average one in three people you see in the street have something to do with the University. You start to feel very quickly that you belong.

As a student in St Andrews, playing golf is a must. With the town itself known around the world as “The Home of Golf”, the university is within minutes of the ancient golf-playing ground in the world, the Old Course, just near the sea. Students can take a break from their studies by enjoying a game of golf, and the university itself is a popular place to go.

It has one of the lowest dropout(辍学) rates in the UK---98 percent of students complete their degree. Perhaps its popularity is in part because of the fact that St Andrews is good for nearly every subject. It has long been among the UK's top five.
