My name is Katie and I'm 13 years old. I wanted to do sports with a dog at the age of nine, but I couldn't find a right dog. When I was 11, my parents gave me a dog. His name is Dusty. I found Dusty perfect for me: he is fast, strong and likes to make me happy. I knew that this was the pet dog I wanted.

I began his early training (训练)in a park when he was about 6 months old. I used anything I could find to make him jump. I used lots of food to train Dusty to practice jumping happily again and again. These months, I'm training Dusty to sit. It is easier for me. Let me show you how to do it.

To train your dog to sit, just give him a treat-a piece of dog food will work, say "sit," hold it up and move it back over his head. Most dogs will just sit so they can watch the food. When the dog sits, give him the treat and say "good sit."

If dogs don't sit when you hold the treat over their heads, you can push(推)their heads down. Remember to treat them when the dog's hindquarters(臀部及后腿)touch the ground.

If you want to know more about how to train a dog, please e-mail me at happykatie@sina. com.

    A. Katie may like doing exercise.

    B. If Dusty jumped, it got no award.

C. Only delicious food can make a dog sit.

A few years ago, Masaru lbuka, the head of Sony, was at a company planning meeting. Suddenly he had
an idea. He stopped the meeting and asked everyone what would happen if Sony took away the recording
function and speakers and sold headphones with a tape player instead. Almost everyone thought he was silly.
Still, lbuka kept his idea and worked at it. The result, of course, turned out to be successful Sony Walkman.
Good ideas often start with a really silly question. Bill Bower man was making breakfast one day. As he
stood there making cakes for his son, he asked himself what would happen if he poured rubber (橡胶) into his
cake iron (蛋糕模具). Later, he tried it and the result looked something like the bottom of most sports shoes
we see today. Still, when he took this idea to several shoes companies, he was laughed at. In fact, every single
company turned him down. Though rather disappointed, Bill went on to form his own company, making NIKE
 sports shoes.
We know today, of course, that each of these ideas caused a successful thing that has changed the way
many of us live. The best questions are usually opened (开放的) and are often "Silly", Children aren't afraid
to ask such questions, but adults usually are. Think how difficult the world might be if people never asked
