        Walking in the street, Richard didn't know where to go. His hometown was about 400 miles away.
He used to have little food. So he came to this city. But nobody would use a man who could neither read
nor write. It began to snow and soon the ground turned white. He felt a little warm when he was passing
a restaurant. He stood at the gate, but a policeman saw him and made him leave.

A Golden Watch
Mike was a young man. He was not very rich. One day he went into a watch shop to buy a nice watch for his girl friend, Rose. His fixed his eyes on a nice gold watch, and decided to buy it. The shop assistant took the watch out, and asked for three hundred pounds for it. Just then, a boy of about fifteen suddenly rushed over and grasped the watch from the assistant’s hand. The assistant hurried out to catch the boy. But it was too late, the boy had disappeared among the street people very quickly. A rich American went into a shop in London. He wanted very much to buy a nice looking watch, but the owner of the shop asked five hundred dollars for it. Suddenly a young man came into the shop, took the watch out of the owner’s hands and ran out with it. It all happened in a few seconds.
