When my son, Justin, was four, he found a caterpillar(毛毛虫)and put it in a box. Each day he         it fresh grass and leaves . In a few weeks, the caterpillar became fat and was ready to sleep. One morning we found        had become a cocoon(茧).
Justin was       . He knew a moth(飞蛾)or butterfly was going to be       .
“Dad !      is happening. Come and look!” He shouted happily. We could clearly see the wings       . A few days later, a beautiful black moth broke free from its cocoon.
The next day, Justin took the        outside and opened it, and the little moth flew out. It flew around the yard twice,       , and landed on Justin’s arm. He picked it up and threw it in the air,        the moth came back again. He tried over and over to set it free, but each time it would return to his arm.
I believe the moth, just like a person, was afraid to        comfortable places and situations. It wanted to stay with something        and was afraid to move on and experience new things.
I was once that little moth. My cocoon was my mother’s love which made me comfortable.       the moth, I didn’t want to fly too far from it. When my first job required me to move to a new city, I was        but later I chose to move there. And finally, I found I was happy about my         .
Humans are animals of habit. We        change. However, if we hadn’t moved, we would not have experienced many new things. So spread your wings and fly.

Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you. Well, ni-hao. (Laughter) It is such a pleasure and an honor to be here with all of you at this great university, so thank you so much for having me. I’m here today because I know that our future depends on connections like these among young people like you across the world.
That’s why when my husband and I travel abroad, we don’t just visit palaces and parliaments(国会) and meet with heads of countries. We also come to schools like this one to meet with students like you, because we believe that relationships between countries aren’t just about relationships between governments or leaders — they’re about relationships between people, particularly young people. So we view study abroad programs not just as an educational chance for students, but also as an active part of America’s foreign policy(政策).
Through the wonders of modern technology, our world is more connected than ever before. Ideas can cross oceans with the click of a mouse. Companies can do business and compete with companies across the world. And we can text, email, Skype with people in the world.
So studying abroad isn’t just a fun way to spend a time of learning; it is quickly becoming the key to success in our times. Because getting ahead in today’s workplaces isn’t just about getting good grades or test scores in school, which are important. It’s also about having real experience with the world beyond your borders — experience with languages, cultures and societies very different from your own. Or, as the Chinese saying goes: “It is better to travel ten thousand miles than to read ten thousand books.”

I used to be very close to my father when I was a child. He gave me almost everything I wanted. Whenever I quarreled with my mother, I would turn to my father for comfort. He was everything to me.

Time flies like a bird. As I got older, I became silent and found it hard to start a conversation with my father. The gap(代沟) between us began to grow. He had done so much for me but I always took it for granted(理所当然).

Last time our school gave us two days off, and daddy gave me a ride home on his motorbike. I was tired and fell asleep on his back. Later my mother said he was very happy because it had been a long time since we got close last. Suddenly I felt a little shamed. I realized that I had paid no attention to him a lot during the last few years.

The next day I stayed in bed and when daddy tried to wake me up to have breakfast, I pretended(假装) that I couldn’t hear him. At last he brought a bowl of noodles to my bed, and said, “Come on, dear, have your breakfast and then continue your dream.” I got so angry with him for troubling my sleep that I shouted, “__________.”

I was shocked and didn’t know what to say. Finally I rushed with tears all over my face. I went to the pool where I used to go fishing with daddy. A few minutes later, I heard the sound of daddy’s motorbike. He was looking for me worriedly, but he didn’t notice me as I was sitting behind a tall brush.

I didn’t return home until 10 a.m.. The moment my parents saw me, they rushed to me. Mum hugged me tightly and daddy looked at me with worry in his eyes. “Are you hungry, dear?” he said at last. Before I could say anything, he had gone off on his motorbike to buy food for me.
