Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf,a cartoon film based on a popular Chinese cartoon TV series, has won the hearts of children in China.

The Chinese cartoon began to be shown in public on January 16,2009,the first day of the winter holiday for Chinese primary school students. The children seemed to go straight from the school to the cinema.

Two weeks after its release(首次上映),the cartoon film got a box office income(票房收入)of 68 million yuan, bigger than that of all American film Madagascar 2,which was released in China on January 1,2009.

“I think it is more interesting than Madagascar 2,”said 8-year-old Wang Lu,who had seen both the Chinese and American cartoon films.

However, some parents didn't have the same enthusiasm for Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf.“It's so childish that I almost fell asleep in the cinema.”Wang Lu's father said.

But primary school children's great interest has brought box office results.Parents join their children in the cinema-buying two or three tickets to keep them accompanied(陪同).

Some young people find the film funny enough to watch.“Pleasant Goat and Bug Big Wolf is so cute,”Dong Lei,a 22-year-old college student said.“However, compared with the animation(动画制作)technology of Hollywood cartoon films such as Kung Fu Panda, the film still has room for improvement,”said cartoonist Yang Lin.

Sorry to say, our brains naturally start slowing down at the young age of 30. It used to be thought that this couldn't be helped, but new studies show that people of any age can train their brains to work faster. "Your brain is a learning machine," says University of California scientist Dr. Michael Merzenich. Given the right tools, we can train our brains to act like they did when we were younger. All that's required is the practice designed just for the purpose: a few exercises for the mind.

Merzenich has developed a computer-based training method to speed up the process(过程) in which the brain deals with information (positscience.com). Since much of the data we receive comes through speech, the Brain Fitness Program works with language and hearing to better speed and accuracy (准确性).Over the course of training, the program starts asking you to tell sounds (between "dog" and "bog", for example) at an increasingly faster speed. It's a bit like tennis instructor, says Merzenich, hitting balls at you faster and faster to keep you challenged. You may start out slow, but before long you're pretty quick.

The biggest finding in brain research in the last ten years is that the brain at any age is highly plastic. If you ask your brain to learn, it will learn. And it may even speed up while in the process. To keep your brain young and plastic you can do one of a million new activities that challenge and excite you:playing table tennis or bridge, doing crossword puzzles, learning a language.... "When it comes to preventing ageing, you really do 'use it or lose it'," says Barbara Sahakian, professor at Cambridge University.

In ancient languages, the seven days of the week were named after the sun, the moon, and the five planets that ancient people knew about (luckily, they only knew about five planets then, or our weeks would be much longer). There is a good reason that in English “Sunday” has the word “sun” in it. Sunday seems to be everyone’s favorite day of the week. It makes sense that it’s named after everyone’s favorite thing in the sky! Do any other weekday names sound like astrological (占星的) words? How about “Monday” and “Moon”, or “Saturday” and “Saturn”?

If you learn French or Spanish, you will see even more planets in the names of the days of the week. These languages are rooted in Latin(拉丁文) and the Latin names match the planet names for all seven days.

English is a strange language. It is very confusing. The days of the week are a perfect example of this confusion. A few are from Latin, and a few are from German. “Tuesday” is named after a German God: Tiw (Tiw’s day). Friday is named after a German Goddess(女神): Freya. English words change spelling, meaning and roots that are based on wars and kings. That’s why English is so hard to learn! Learning the names of the week can be like a history lesson in itself!

46. Which day of the week was named after the moon?

A. Sunday B. Monday C. Saturday D. Tuesday

47. We can tell from the story that “Saturn” is _______.
