(B) Safety in Swimming Swimming is among our favourite water sports. We have seen that millions of people enjoy swimming each year.Fortunately.we have seen the danger of careless swimming.too.Every year more and more pools are being built. In these places.people unable to swim learn to do so by having experienced teachers and lifeguards protect them from danger. There are proper places for swimming. In selecting a place to swim .we should know that the water is clean and is free of large rocks. When we swim in a pool.we needn't worry about these things. But if we swim in a pool.we must be sure that there is no danger at all. A good many swimmers are unable to take advice from lifeguards.A lot of people in the world lose their lives by drowning every year.Their lives are lost because people are unable to swim .or do not swim properly.or do not take proper caution when in the water. To risk unknown waters is to invite danger.Sometimes swimmers depend too much upon water wings. They help us while we are learning to swim .but we should not depend upon them too much in deep water.Although water wings can keep us a float.they are not easy to keep in place. 题目列表(包括答案和解析)

In 1993 an unknown American called Clarence Nash went to see the filmmaker Walt Disney. He had an unusual voice and he wanted to work in Disney’s cartoon(动画片) film for children. When Walt Disney heard Nash’s voice, he said”Stop! That’s our duck!”

The duck was the now-famous Donald Duck, who first appeared in 1934 in the firm The Wise Little Hen. Donald lived in an old houseboat(水上住家) and wore his sailor jacket and hat. Later that year he became a star after an eight – minute Mickey Mouse film. The cinema audience liked him because he was lazy and greedy(贪婪的), and because he lost his temper (发脾气) very quickly. And they loved his voice when he became angry with Mickey’s eight nephews(侄子). Soon Donald was more popular than Mickey Mouse himself, probably because he wasn’t a goody-goody like Mickey.

In the 1930S, 40s and 50s Donald and his friends Mickey, Goofy and Pluto made hundreds of Disney cartoons. He also made educational films about the place of the USA in the world, and safety in the home. Then in 1966 Donald Duck and his voice disappeared – there were no more new cartoons.

Safety Activities for Middle School Kids

School is not the safe place as it used to be.How do we keep school safer? How do we help students stay away from danger? There are many activities that teachers can do to teach safety in an easy way. Here are some stories from the students who have had the safety class in No.1 Middle School.

  Mike Smith:About Sports Safety

Once, our head teacher made up a story about sports safety. All we needed to do was to point out safe and unsafe sports behaviors in the story. From this lesson, we knew we should always do warm-up activities before playing sports and drink some water after that.

  Amy Young:About Classroom Safety

Yes, making up stories is a good way to learn and enjoy ourselves. We were once asked to make up a story about a boy called Little Naughty(调皮的).He always did something naughty in the classroom and got himself into trouble. In this way, we learned to behave(为人处世)well and get on well with each other.

  Frank Green:About Fire Safety

In our school, we have a fire emergency response practice(火警应急演习)in September every year.So we know where to go if there is a fire in a school. We learn to use the fire extinguisher(灭火器), too.But I don't think we should be allowed to put out the fire by ourselves, it's too dangerous for young students like us.
