题目列表(包括答案和解析)
Today I took Frank to have a training class (培训课). We got there earlier than most of the other dogs and owners.
Mr. Brown helped us teach our dogs some skills (本领). When the dog did it, he said, “Good dog!” He was a serious man but he laughed a lot with dogs. He said Frank was smarter than other dogs.
Next to Frank was also a smart dog. His name was Sam. His short legs made him look funny, but he could run faster than many of the bigger dogs. His owner was a quiet girl and looked a little shy. So I said hello to her first. I hoped she could be my friend.
At the end of the class, Mr. Brown told me that Frank did the best this class and he would give him a ball.

People can have heart problems. So can dogs. Ginger, a ten-year-old dog, had such a serious heart problem that her life was in danger. Ginger's owner, Mrs. Brown, loved her dog very much and couldn't lose her. The newspaper in the town, where Mrs. Brown lived, carried a story about Ginger and her problem. A manufacturer of heart pacemakers(起搏器) came to save Ginger. Pacemakers are usually used for people, but the manufacturer gave one to help save the dog's life. The cost of the pacemaker would be 850 dollars, but Mrs. Brown received one as a present. The doctor who installed the pacemaker in Ginger was a veterinarian(兽医). Ginger was operated on for 45 minutes, and Mrs. Brown hoped that the dog would be able to live a healthy life.
Pacemakers are often used to help people with heart problems, but an operation like this is quite unusual for an animal. A pacemaker is installed to help regulate (调节) the heartbeat (心跳). For a heart that beats weakly, the pacemaker helps keep a strong beat.
