If you get into the forest with your friends, stay with them always. If you don’t, you may get lost.If you really get lost, this is what you should do.Sit down and stay where you are.Don’t try to find your friends-let them find you by staying in one place.

There is another way to help your friends or other nearby people to find you.Give them a signal(信号)by shouting or whistling(吹口哨)three times.Any signal given three times is a call for help.

Keep up shouting or whistling always three times together. When people hear you, they will know that you are not just making noise for fun. They will let you know that they have heard your signal. They give you two shouts, two whistles, or two gun-shots(枪声).When someone gives you a signal, it is an answer to a call for help.

If you don’t think that you will get help before night comes, try to make a little house---cover up to the holes with branches(树枝)with lots of leaves.Make yourself a soft bed with leaves and grass.

What should you do if you get hungry or need drinking water? You would have to leave your little house to look for a river.Don’t just walk away.Pick off small branches and drop them as you walk so that you can find your way back. The most important thing to do when you are lost is-stay in one place.

It's easier to agree than disagree. The following tips(建议)can help keep disagreements constructive(建设性的).

Don't make it personal.

If you get upset, it can help to remember that you're mad at the person's idea, not the person.

Never criticize the other person's idea.

Instead of saying “That's a stupid idea!”, try:“I don't agree, and here's why.” Never shout loudly and you'll have a much better chance of getting your idea across.

Use “I” statements to communicate how you feel and what you think.

Using “you” statements can sound argumentative(好争论的).For example, telling your mom “You always remind me about my chores when I have a lot of homework” has a very different tone(语气)from “I'm under pressure because I have a lot of homework tonight. Can I do those chores tomorrow?”

Listen to the other point of view.

When the other person is talking, try to stop thinking about why you disagree or what you'll say next.Instead, focus on what's being said. When it's your turn to talk, repeat any key points the other person made to show you have paid attention to what was said. Then calmly express why you disagree.

Stay calm.

This is the most important thing you can do to keep a conversation go on well.

阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C、D)中选出最佳选项。

Do you sometimes argue about what seems to you to be a simple fact? Do you argue whether it's cold outdoors or whether the car in front of you is going faster than the speed limit(限速)?

If you get into such arguments, try to think about the story about the six blind men and the elephant. The first blind man who felt the elephant's trunk(象鼻)said it was like a snake. The second who felt the elephant's side said it was like a wall, while the third said it was like a spear(矛)as he touched the animal's tusk. The fourth, who took hold of the elephant's tail insisted that it was like a rope. The fifth man said it looked liked a tree as he put his arms around one of the elephant's legs. The last, who was tall and got hold of the elephant's ears, said it was like a huge fan.

Each man's idea of the animal came from his own experience. So if someone disagrees with you about a “simple fact”, it's often because his experience in the matter is different from yours.

To see how hard it is for even one person to make up his mind about a “simple fact”, try this simple experiment.Get three large bowls.Put ice water in one.Put hot water in the second.Put lukewarm water(温水)in the third. Now put your left hand in the hot water.Put your right hand in the lukewarm water.Your right hand will tell you the water is cold.Your left hand will tell you ________ it is hot.

[ ]
