    (C) Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn, in 1770. Both his father and grandfather were singers and musicians in the court of the prince of Bonn, Germany. Little Beethoven’s grandfather was a good musician, but he died when Beethoven was three years old. His father, Johann, was not so good a musician as his grandfather and less talented than his son. Mr. Beethoven could tell that his son had a lot of musical talent. When Beethoven was only four years old, his father started teaching him to play the piano.
