I had a bad habit of skipping to the last pages of a book. I just wanted to see how it ended 36 I was still in the middle of it. This habit 37 first my mom, then my friends, and 38 even my own daughter. Often my 39 wouldn¡¯t be limited just to the books I read but also to what others were 40 as well. Then one day my daughter told me in anger, ¡°Dad, please just read a book one 41 at a time like everyone else!¡±
At times I didn¡¯t 42 this bad habit to just books either. I also tried to skip ahead in my own life and 43 out what to do months and even years from now 44 enjoying each day at present. Although I knew that the 45 of my life wasn¡¯t done yet and that I had many
pages 46 to go, I still couldn¡¯t control my burning desire to write the 47 of it half-way through. Time and again, I would 48 jump ahead and try to solve every potential(DZÔÚµÄ) problem before it happened. Life, 49 , doesn¡¯t work like that. It loves to 50 us, and you never know what new problems, changes, or opportunities each new day will 51 .
Recently when I found myself living in the 52 again, I felt a voice that gently told me I needed to ¡°live one day at a time.¡± When I heard those words, I 53 , turned the book of my life back to the 54 page, and thanked God for today.
Each of us has to 55 the book of life line by line, moment by moment and trust that our story will be brought to its perfect end.

The western world has always been divided into two types of people¡ªthe cool and the uncool. It is a division that 1 in school. The cool kids are good at 2 .They are 3 with the opposite sex¤ª and are good-looking and people want to 4 their style. They can do their homework but they don¡¯t make a big effort. That would 5 be cool.
The uncool kids are in the other corner of the playground. They are very bright, but they don¡¯t have great 6 skills and they are 7 at sports. When they are not programming computers or doing calculus£¨Î¢»ý·Ö£©in their heads, they are reading comic books and watching shows like the ¡°X Files¡±. They are 8 as the geeks (×öµÍ¼¶»¬»ü±íÑݵÄÈË).
Here¡¯s the news. The geeks are 9 . Make friends with them now or they will put virus in your computer and 10 your math homework to ruin. Geeks might not be popular at school, yet they do pass their examinations, and they might not be too popular at university, but 11 good degrees.
The most important 12 of the 21st century, computers and IT, has been at least partly created by geeks. Geek heroes like Bill Gates 13 others to follow their example. Being a geek is a way of earning good money. And the creation of the Internet gave them a 14 of their own to work and play in, making them a global 15 .Besides, the effect of the geeks 16 popular culture has started a new trend£¨Ç÷ÊÆ£©. It is now cool to be 17 .Geek culture is becoming an important part of general popular culture, in which what you know is more important than 18 you look like.
But there are also 19 .Geeks were often bullied or laughed at in school. Now a geek may be your boss. Perhaps it is time for 20 .

Here I must put in a few words about my experience here in China. If I have 36 with a Chinese host, he always presses 37 food onto my plate as soon as I have emptied it of the previous helping. That often makes me 38 very awkward. I have to eat the food even if I don¡¯t 39 it, because it is considered ¡¡40 manners in the West to 41 one¡¯s food on the plate.
I have also 42 that when a Chinese sits at an American¡¯s dinner party, he very often 43 the offer of food or drink though he is in fact still hungry or 44 . This might be good manners in China, but it is certainly 45 in the West.
In the United States, it is 46 to keep asking someone again and again or press something on him. Americans are very 47 . If they want something, they will ask for it. If not, they will say, ¡° 48 ¡± Here¡¯s an example: When an American is offered 49 by the host, and he doesn¡¯t like beer, he will probably say, ¡°No, thanks. I just don¡¯t feel like it. I¡¯ll 50 some diet Pepsi-Cola if you have it. ¡± That is 51 an American will do.
52 are taught that ¡°Honesty is the best policy. But in some countries, courtesy(Ç«Ðé)might be more important than 53 . So when I am here in China, I have to observe the 54 here. But when you go to 55 , you had better ¡°do as the Romans do¡±.
