    WASHINGTON（AP）—Good news for dinosaur fans：There are probably a lot more of them waiting to be discovered．At least，their fossils are．

    Peter Dodson of the University of Pennsylvania and Steve Wang of Swarthmore College estimate that 71 percent of all dinosaur genera（种类）—groups of dinosaur species—have yet to be discovered．

    “It’s a safe bet that a child born today could expect a very fruitful career in dinosaur paleontology（古生物学），”Dodson said in a statement．

    The estimate appears in Tuesday’s issue of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences．

    Dodson—a professor of anatomy at Penn’s School of Veterinary Medicine and professor at Penn’s Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences—first estimated the potential number of dinosaur genera in 1990 and is revising that upward．

    The estimates are based on the rates of discovery—about 10 to 20 annually—and the recent increase in finds of fossils in China，Mongolia and South America．

    Dodson suggests that 1,850 genera will eventually be discovered．So far 527 genera have been found．

    Fossilization itself is a rare event，they note，and as many as half of the dinosaur genera that ever existed may have left no remains．

    “I would never suggest that this prediction．however statistically（统计上地）sound．is the final word on dinosaur diversity，“Dodson added．”My intention is to fuel the discussion using the facts at hand，and this is the best estimate we can make with the data available．”

The census(统计) totaled 1,706 tigers in forests across the Asian country—about 300 more than four years ago.          A child-like robot. Wakamaru, developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries of Japan and combining the roles
    of nurse, companion and security guard, will soon be in the market to look after the growing number of old

         What would you think if I told you I could eat 40 percent more food than other people
    eat boxes of ice cream, bowls of noodles and plates of meat -- and all the while be losing
    weight?
         You might hate me, thinking 1 have one of those good metabolisms (新陈代谢) that just
    burn up fat when it enters my body. You might wonder if I have an eating disorder. Or maybe
    you'd just shrug your shoulders and figure I have a rich fantasy life. You'd be wrong.
         For my body to perform such a surprising task, I would have to be a mouse. Not just any
    mouse, but one lucky enough to be involved in a new study at Baylor College of Medicine in
    Houston.
         In the study, after discovering an enzyme (酶) that allows fat to be stored in the body,
    scientists fed mice without those enzymes, and found those mice were able to eat far more
    food than other mice  and still weighed 10 to 15 percent less.
         Best of all, the mice without the enzyme were in very good health, were able to produce
    baby mice without any problem and generally acted like any other mouse. That's great news
    for researchers, who think that scientists may figure out a way to prevent the fat-metabolizing
    enzyme in humans as a way to control weight gain. And such a pill would be very exciting for
    many struggling to get rid of dangerous extra pounds.
         But don't start planning any big dinner just yet: At this point, of course, any pill for humans
    is but a twinkle (闪烁) in the eye of every drug company's CEO. More tests are to be conducted,
    and eventually humans will be tested. But for now, unfortunately, controlling what you eat is still
    the key to losing weight.
