题目列表(包括答案和解析)

Normal bicycle safety guides usually tell you to wear you helmet(头盔) and to obey the law in order to avoid being hit on a bike. Is this advice really helpful?
Consider this for a moment: Wearing a helmet will absolutely do nothing to prevent you from getting hit by a car. Surely, a helmet might help you if you get hit, but you No.1 goal should be to avoid getting hit. Plenty of cyclists were killed by cars__________. However, if they had ridden without helmets, yet followed the guidelines listed below, they might still be alive today. So they saying that wearing a helmet is the first and last word in bike safety is, to some degree(在一定程度上), wrong.
The most common bike safety advice is “follow the law”. Ridiculously, most people are already aware that it’s stupid to race through a red light at a crossroads. As a result, it’s clear that the “follow the law” advice isn’t that helpful, either. In addition, following the law is not enough to keep you safe. Here’s an example: The law tells you to ride on the right, but if you ride too far to the right, someone started a parked car could open their door right in front of you and motorists pulling out of driveways and parking lots will be less visible. In that case you were following the law, but could still have been hit.
Then what should we remember in order to keep safe when riding a bike? I will tell you about it in the following paragraph.
【小题1】What does the author say about wearing a helmet in the second paragraph?(within 8 words)
_________________________________________________________________________________________
【小题2】Which sentence in the passage is the closest in meaning to the following one?
However, nearly everyone knows that riding through hared traffic light is dangerous.
_________________________________________________________________________________________
【小题3】Please fill in the blank in the second paragraph with proper words or phrases to complete the sentence.(within 5 words)
_________________________________________________________________________________________
【小题4】 List the two regular bike safety guides.(within 8words)
_______________________________________②_______________________________________
【小题5】Translate the underlined sentence in the third paragraph into Chinese.

Last week’s topic: What’s your opinion about cheating in exams?
Wilson 822 (Fujian): An oath isn’t enough to keep anyone from cheating. Who can tell that they won’t promise something that goes against their will? So I think the punishment is important. Punishments should be serious enough to stop people breaking the oath!
Wang Changling (Anhui): The oath itself makes all test-takers think that others may consider them would-be cheaters, which can hurt their feelings. In my opinion, prevention is better than a punishment. Educators should set good examples for students to follow and be role models for them. Even if only a few educators continue to copy other people’s work and their research papers, surely, students will follow.
Anonymous(匿名的): I support the school’s action against cheating. Although the oath isn’t a duty, it can warn the would-be cheater.
Cathy Cheng: I find it is hard to refuse a friend who wants help in exams. And I think the rule of Maryland University gives the students like me a good excuse to refuse.
Zzq8301: I think it is a promising step toward what we’re talking about when we say “fair play” these days. Cheaters should be stopped because they make it difficult for the honest to succeed.
Freda (Tianjin): I was told by my foreign teacher to write down the oath on the back of my test paper in the same way that was described in the article. It is a rule everyone should obey in a fair game. Whether this method succeeds or fails is up to you. What I want to say is to be true to yourself.

If you’re among the millions of Americans packing their vacation bags for summer trips, don’t forget, however, that as soon as you step off the plane, you’re expected to follow that country’s laws. We took a look at one of the top countries Americans are most likely to visit and what might happen if you got caught.

Mexico

Smoking marijuana (大麻): If police find you smoking a cigarette which contains marijuana, they will most likely detain you overnight and you will get a fine.

Carrying a firearm (枪支): You might be able to walk around with a gun in Texas, but that isn’t so in Mexico, so leave your gun behind. If you wish to go hunting in Mexico, you can apply for a gun permit but expect to be charged $ 5,000. If you are caught bringing a firearm, Mexican policeman may take away your car and arrest you. An arrested American may spend months in prison while his or her case is being looked into.

Driving 70 mph on the highway: Speed limits are on the lower side. Depending on what type of highway you’re driving on, you shouldn’t go faster than 62 mph. The police enforce the speed limit, but most local police don’t have radars. The maximum fine for speeding is about $ 40. To scare tourists into paying the fine “on the spot”, sometimes police will threaten to keep your driver’s license. This is illegal, so call them on it.

1.When the travelers are in Mexico, they should NOT          .

      A.smoke the cigarettes without marijuana

B.hunt the animals without the permit

       C.obey the laws in Mexico

D.drive more than 50 mph on the highway

2.The word “detain” in the second paragraph means:          .

       A.arrest                  B.deny                   C.punish                 D.destroy

3.Which of the following statements is NOT true?

A.The laws in America are different from the ones in Mexico.

B.People will be fined if they smoke marijuana.

C.People will be arrested if they are caught bringing a gun.

D.The police in Mexico have right to keep the drivers’ license.

4.If the travelers want to drive in Mexico, they should           .

A.drive by themselves                             B.take radars with them

C.limit their car speed                  D.travel on the high way
