Last Tuesday I took two daughters, aged five and seven, to town by car. It began to rain _36_ so I decided I would leave the children in the car _37_ I rushed into a shop.        Having drunk too much, Alfred was now driving his car along the country road at the top speed, when an old man walked across the road.
