On American highways you often see big buses of the same size， shape and colour, with the picture of a running dog painted on each side. They are the well-known Greyhound buses, Greyhound being the name of the company which owns these long-distance buses.

When the summer holidays came near, I asked my American friends what was the best way to travel within the United States. They recommended(建议) Greyhound and explained to me the reason.

To fly, of course, is the fastest way, but one can't see anything during a flight except the blue sky and white clouds. So it is not very interesting to one who wants to see the country. Besides, airfare is very expensive.
