I would like to tell you about myself. I have been a news reporter for the past fifteen years. I __46__ this job so I could travel the world，but job has taught me many unforgettable lessons. The work is sometimes __47__. I have seen famines(饥荒)，earthquakes，poorness and death. But I have __48__ seen courage，hope and happiness.
In India，I visited a city where there were many homeless children. Some were as young as four years old. They lived in the __49__ and depended on themselves by begging or stealing. But then a wonderful lady called Rosa opened a home for them. Within one year，she was __50__ two hundred children. She clothed them，fed them and taught them. She gave them __51__.
__52__ time，I was in Turkey after a terrible earthquake. In one place，I found an old lady whose house was destroyed. Her son was missing and rescue(救援) workers said there was no chance that he was still alive. But the old lady did not __53__ hope. For four days，she moved heavy stones one at a time by herself. She did not stop __54__ she found her son. He was alive.
Here in China，I met a young boy who was seriously ill. He had had twenty operationsand spent nearly his whole life in hospital. I thought he would be __55__，but when I met him，his smile was so warm and welcoming.
In life，we need good models that we can admire and learn from. When my life is difficult，I try to remember the courage and goodness of these three people.

At 9 a.m. on October 15, 2003, our country launched (发射) its first manned (有人的) space-ship, Shenzhou V, into space at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Gansu Province. It took Yang Liwei and his spaceship about 21 hours to circle the earth 14 times. Yang Liwei is China’s first astronaut. He comes from Liaoning Province, and he has been an air force pilot(飞行员) since 1983. He was chosen from 14 pilots after many difficult tests.

The life of an astronaut is hard to imagine for many people. To put on a space suit takes 15 minutes with the help of others. Sleeping in space is not easy, either. He has to sleep in a special sleeping bag on the wall because there is no gravity. Yang can eat chicken and rice. It’s especially made to eat in space but it doesn’t taste nice.

“I’m feeling very good in space, and it looks wonderful here,” said Yang, “I have looked at our beautiful earth and I have recorded all that I have seen here.”

China has become the third country in the world to send a person into space after the former Soviet Union(前苏联) and the United States. China is now planning its next launch. Shenzhou VI will be into space within(在……之内) the next years, it may take three astronauts. We are all proud of our motherland.

When you are learning English, you find it not clever to put an English sentence, word for word, into your own language. Take the sentence “How do you do?” as an example. If you looked up each word in the dictionary, once at a time, what is your translation （翻译）? It must be a wrong sentence in your own language.

Languages do not just have different sounds; they are different in many ways. Its important to master（掌握）the rules for word order in the study of English, too. If the speaker puts words in a wrong order, the listener can’t understand his sentence easily. Sometimes when the order of words in an English sentence is changed, the meaning of the sentence changes. But sometimes the order is changed, but the meaning of the sentence doesn’t change. Let’s see the different between the two parts of sentences.
