  April is a day on which , in some countries , people try to play tricks on (开……的玩笑) others. If one succeeds in tricking somebody, one laughs and says, “April Fool”, and then the person who has been tricked usually laughs, too.

  One April 1st, a country bus was going along a winding road when it slowed down and stopped. The driver anxiously(焦急地) turned switches but nothing happened. Then he turned to the passengers with a worried look on his face and said , “This poor bus is getting old. It isn't going as well as it used to. There is only one thing to do if we want to get home today. I shall count three, and on the word ‘three’ I want you all to lean forward (探身过去) suddenly as hard as you can. That should get the bus started again. But if it doesn't, I'm afraid there is nothing else I can do. Now, all of you lean back as far as you can in your seats and get ready.”

  The passengers all obeyed and waited anxiously.

  Then the driver turned to his front and asked, “Are you ready?”

  Then passengers hardly had enough breath(呼吸)to answer, “Yes ”.

   “One! Two! Three! ”counted the driver. The passengers all swung forward (向前晃) suddenly and the bus started up at a great speed.

  The passengers breathed more easily and began to smile with relief (放松) . But their smiles turned to surprise and thendelighted (快乐的)laughter when the driver merrily cried, “AprilFool ! ”

He was kind to his students and could make his classes interesting, So all the students liked him. One day Mr. Turn received a letter.      Encouraging words are very important. Here is a story about it.
     A group of frogs were traveling through the woods and two of them fell into a deep hole. When the other
frogs saw how deep the hole was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead. The two frogs
ignored (不理睬) the comments and tried to jump out of the hole with all their strength.
    The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs
considered what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down and died. The other frog continued
to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs shouted at him to stop the pain and just die. He
jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, "Did you not hear us?"
The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him all the time.
    This story teaches us the following lessons: Be careful of what you say to those who are in trouble. There
is power of life and death in the word. An encouraging word to someone who is down can lift them up and
help them make it through the day.
