Thomas Edison was g great American scientist. He was born in Ohio(俄亥俄州)in 1847.
When he was at school, he asked his teachers a lot of questions. Some of his questions were easy, others were difficult. And he did not stop doing so. His teachers often said he was not a good student. They did not like him and they did not want to answer any more questions. So Edison had to leave school after only three months.
After this, Edison's mother taught him at home. The boy was soon reading all kinds of books.
When he was about ten, he was already doing science work. He planted tomatoes and other things. So he got some money to buy the needed things for his work.
