　　An old man has a monkey. The monkey is very kind. He drives the birds away（把鸟赶走）from the garden and drives the flies away from the old man's face when the old man falls asleep（睡着）.

　　One hot afternoon in the summer, the old man is asleep in his chair. A fly comes and sits on the old man's nose. The monkey drives it away. Soon the fly comes back and sits on the old man's nose again. The monkey drives it away. This goes on for five times.

The monkey at last becomes very angry. He jumps up, runs to the garden and picks up a stone. The next time that fly comes and sits on the old man's nose, the monkey hits it hard with the stone. He kills the fly, but he also breaks the old man's nose.
