阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。

My topic is fashion, and to make my talk more lively, I have brought along five objects.Fashion is important to all of us.Now we are all wearing school uniforms. When we go home, what do we do? We change into other clothes. If we are going out, we like to wear fashionable clothes. So my first object is this blouse. It looks beautiful, doesn't it? It is my most expensive piece of clothing, and I love it.It costs over $ 600.You may say that it is too expensive, but luckily I can pay for it.The more you spend, the better the quality is.So you see, fashion is quite important to me, I admit it.

However, I'm not as fond of fashion as my elder brother.Last summer, my parents took us both to London. They wanted to show us some fashion sights. But my brother Gary did not enjoy the old buildings. He just wanted to spend all his time in the big shopping malls, searching for the coolest pair of trousers! For him, fashion was more important than culture. These are the trousers he bought. Were they worth the cost of a trip to London to buy these? I don't think so.I think it was a waste, of time and money.

We must, however, remember that fashion is a very big business.Changes in fashion can create or lose jobs.As an example, I have brought this blonde wig (假发) to show you.Do you like it'? It belongs to one of my mother's friends. She told me that in the 1960s, it was fashionable for Western women to wear wigs. But a few years later fashions changed and women wore wigs much less often. Then the wig factories closed down and hundreds of workers lost their jobs.

Tears came into this mother’s eyes when she talked about waking up her son.Every morning, her ten-year-old boy puts up one finger with his eyes still closed, begging(乞求)for one more minute to sleep.

Why is he so sleepy? Because, like thousands of student “early birds” in China, he has to get up before 6 a. m. every morning.

你喜欢你现在的学习模式吗?你满意你的父母对你的管理方式吗?下面我们可以看一看日本的教育状况,看看能否对我们有所启示?

Japanese students work very hard but many are unhappy. They feel heavy pressure from their parents to do well in school. Most students are always being told by their parents to study harder so that they can have a wonderful life. Though this may be a good idea for those very bright students, it can have terrible results for many students because they are not gifted enough.

As it is reported, a number of students kill themselves. Others try to get good feelings by taking drugs. Some join groups of trouble-makers and turn to crime. Many of them have tried very hard at school but have failed in the exams and find they have caused their parents to lose hope. Such students feel that they are hated by anyone else they meet and they don't want to go to school any longer. They become dropouts.

It is surprising that though most Japanese parents are worried about their children, they do not help them in any way. Many parents feel that they are not able to help their children and that it is the teachers' work to help their children. To make matters worse, a lot of parents send their children to schools in the evenings and on weekends. They only help students to pass exams and never teach students any real sense of the world. It is a great surprise that almost three quarters of middle school students have been to such kind of schools.

Many Japanese schools usually have rules about everything from the students' hair to their clothes and the things in their schoolbags. Child psychologists now think that such strict rules are harmful to the emotions of the students. Almost 40% of the students say that no one has taught them how to get on with others, how to tell right from wrong, or how to show love for others, even for their parents.

D.lose hopes and drop some of their subjects

3.Which of the following is NOT true?
