People of Burlington are being disturbed by the sound of bells. It’s high time they realized the problem.” The fourth student, Liza Vernum, said she thought the public were mostly on their side, and even if they weren’t they soon would be.
I asked if they were 23 that the police might come to stop them.
“Not really,” she said, “actually we are suitable bellringers. I mean we are assistant bellringers for the church. There is no 24 against practising.”
I left the church with the sound of the bells ringing in my ears.

Fred liked playing tricks on others. One afternoon he went to a shop and bought some bread. On his way home he saw Johnson, an old man of about sixty, was riding a donkey(
驴). The boy walked to the old man and decided to play a trick on him. He thought for a while and then be had an idea.“Hello, my friend,” Fred said in a loud voice. “Please come and have a piece of bread.”
